Signature banners - Part 1

How to add a signature banner to your posts:

  1. Find a signature banner you like and copy the BBCode from its site.
  2. Left-click the Settings link in the upper right corner.
  3. Left-click the Edit signature link in the My Settings box on the left.
  4. Hover your mouse over the top left button in the Edit Signature section of the screen. If the "Switch Editor to Source Mode" message is displayed, left-click the button. If the "Switch Editor to WYSIWYG Mode" message is displayed, you are ready for the next step.
  5. Paste the BBCode you got from the banner site into the text box beneath the buttons in the Edit Signature section of the screen.
  6. Left-click the Preview Signature button. Your signature will be displayed in the Preview section above the Edit Signature section of the screen.
  7. If you don't like the previewed signature, make adjustments to the code you pasted into the text box and click the Preview Signature button again. If you do like the previewed signature, left-click the Save Signature button beneath the text box.

The problem with E-Cig-Forums.com's Smoke-Free Quit Meter Banner Maker is it only goes back to 2010, I started vaping in 2009.

  1. Click the Settings link in the upper right corner.
  2. Click the Edit signature link in the My Settings box on the left.
Enjoy! :toast:

That test didn't go well. I'm trying to use the signature banner that looks like a PV battery on this site ecigexpress Analog Free counter

After filling out the information I get an HTML code, a BB code and a link to the graphic. When I use either the HTML or BB codes and try to save my signature, nothing shows up. What am I doing wrong?

I'm not sure. I just now added step by step instructions to the blog post that describe how I do it. You might want to try following those, and then let me know if you run into any trouble with them or if they could be worded more clearly or if I left anything out.

The nice thing about the signature editor is that it's a mini word processor with a preview ability, so you can try things out and see how they look before saving.

Thanks. It worked :D

I'm very new to this, so would like to know how to use the center BBcode to put my counter in the center of my signature area. Also, I don't know if this is the right area to ask but I'd like to be able to center an attached picture in a message. Thanks.

I'm so glad it worked!

When I center something with BBCode, I put the editor into source mode (with the top left button inside the editor) and I usually put an opening and closing LEFT tag followed by an opening CENTER tag followed by whatever is going into it followed by a closing CENTER tag. That way you get a blank line above it.

You can also not put the editor into source mode and left-click whatever it is that you want to center and then click the center of the three buttons immediately to the right of the BIU buttons in the second row of the editor.

Whichever one is easier or more fun. :toast:
