Freedom Smoke USA - Imagine a vapor shop with 700 flavors and a goal of 1000! This is Freedom Smoke USA. I have met this team and the owner at vapefest (Vegas) and they really seem to care about the company and its goals. I have not ordered from them directly yet but I likely will some time. These are from sample bottles that were given to me at vapefest by the vendor but were already open. Some steeping may have occured before I tasted them.
Latakia - I must first admit that I have never had Latakia tobacco straight. I have had it in tobacco blends and often when a tobacco product was marked as "Turkish" blended I can pick out the Latakia style tobacco that was added from the base tobacco. To me it is somewhat of a white peppercorn mixed with a bit
of pine smoke and an almost perfumed spice blend.
The review -
The boring (but necessary) stuff:
Vapor production - Average.
Throat Hit - At 24mg it was a harder throat hit.
Smell - Heavily peppery with a hint of spice
Thickness - Thinner and wicks well.
Flavor - Fresh out of the bottle this presented very peppery to me. Almost like vaping a black pepper flavor. I did not really detect alot of tobacco or the spicy smokiness I expected. After steeping I found this one to present a better balance but still a little heavy on the pepper flavor. I was impressed with a french inhale on this one, and it was the only way I could detect the more subtle spiced flavor. Without the french inhale it reminded me of a USA domestic light cig with a hint of pepper. This one is not going on my "Keep around" list but I would not be upset if I had bought a bottle to try it.
New Port - I was not a menthol smoker, but I certainly have had my fair share of menthol cigs. In my quest for the perfect tobacco I have tried many varieties and styles. Many "bummed" cigs have also made their way into my hands over the years. I will openly admit that I may miss the subtle nuances present in alot of menthol blends.

The boring (but necessary) stuff:
Vapor production - Average.
Throat Hit - At 18mg it was a moderate throat hit.
Smell - very wintergreen.
Thickness - Thinner and wicks well.
Flavor - Fresh out of the bottle this this was a potent menthol. I did find a nice wintergreen freshness to it that I did like. I did not detect alot of tobacco flavor from this one fresh or steeped. Oncce it had steeped I found it became more true to a menthol cig. I would like this one better with the menthol toned down a bit, but I know this would likely not be the case for a menthol smoker. All in all, not a bad mix but as I am not a menthoholic I doubt I would keep this one around. Both of my parents, who are menthol smokers, noted that it was a good methol cig but did not taste like "Their brand". Neither of them smoke newports though.
