Pulling the Trigger on a New Mech

As much as I loved my SVD for the 32 days that it worked brilliantly, I've come to loathe it now. Sometimes it would work perfectly for two or three days straight and I'd think, Oh Boy! It's back! Then BZZZT! Nope. I'd hit that button ten times without it firing once. Then it would finally light up only to turn itself off again. Sometimes it would start working after I slapped it around a bit, but eventually it would stop. I think the fire button assembly has just come loose or something. Anyway, huge PITA.

So I was thinking, 'Man, to heck with this, I should just get another mech. Something I can put my kayfun on that will let it sit flush instead of having a 1.5mm gap like it has with my M16. A mech that has a cool look and a recessed button. But where oh where can I find such a mech that will only set me back $20 or so because I'm broke?' Then I went to 101Vape and saw that their new Atomo clone was on sale.

Cool design? Check. I have a long time love of theoretical particle physics, so the atom logo is perfect for me.

Recessed button? Check. I don't know why all mechanical mods don't have this feature. Spinning a locking ring every time I set it down is a drag. When I'm vaping my M16 I've come to keeping a folded paper towel on my table to just lay it down on.

Adjustable pin (top and bottom)? Check. My new KFL+ needs to sit flush. Not just because I'd prefer it that way, but what if it rolls off the paper towel and gets bumped or something? I don't want all the force directed onto those wee 510 threads. It needs some stability.

Perfect Price? Um... holy smokes 18.99 CHECK! And BONUS - magnetic switch! I always wanted to try one of those.

Now, I'm no dummy. This has 'too good to be true' written all over it. But, and this is a big but, I've never had any problems with 101vape. Would they sell me a piece of junk? Somehow, I doubt it. I probably wouldn't take this chance with a supplier I hadn't already done business and had such a high success rate with. Other ECF members' posts about them are universally good, too.

I'll get it in a few days and probably post a review blog a few days after that.
