The Doge RDA: Wow. Such airflow.

(Will update with pictures later tonight/tomorrow, although there are plenty online).

This is my informal review on the Competition Doge RDA by Congrevape. I ordered mine last month (during Round 3) and received it about 3 days ago. Round 4 is currently open, and they will be shipping out at the end of the month (as far as I know).

So, this is essentially a fantastic version of the Tobh. I'd go as far as to say it's an end-all for cloud-chasing RDA's. Seriously. The people who manufacture this are the same who make the Infinite Tobh clone. The congrevape guys contracted them because their failure rate for their atomizers is something crazy-low like 10%. Beyond that, Congrevape QC's all the Doges before shipping them out, meaning the likelihood of getting a bad Doge (heh) is really low. Can't say that for a lot of other atomizers (especially at the price point.) And, even if you do manage to destroy a post or lose a screw or your o-rings aren't tight, the Doge comes with a nice little package of spare parts. Mine features some additional screws, a copper contact screw for the center post (which I've tried briefly), a tiny screwdriver for the posts (just another to add to the collection really), 3 additional o-rings, and 2 insulators + an extra SS center post (in case you manage to fry it or something).

One of the best parts is the interchangeability. The Doge top-cap fits on virtually any Stillaire, Tobh, Mutation X -- and more. Anything that can fit a Chuff Enuff topcap can fit the Doge topcap (and vice-versa). Granted, you may have some issues lining up the air holes if you're mixing and matching: If you flip the Tobh upside down before putting it onto the base, you can use the airflow control on the top-cap of the Doge (it lines up with the Tobh holes). That said, I wasn't able to get my Tobh to be flush with the middle part upside down. Not sure if that's specific to my Tobh clone (by Infinite), or if that's just how it is (leaning towards the latter).

The build quality of the Doge itself is top notch. It comes in a really clever, compact presentation box too. The Doge is virtually a Tobh, but it doesn't have those ridges that the Tobh has to control the airflow. Instead, the airflow is controlled by a combination of the top cap and the center ring. In full-air mode, it's almost excessive. Even firing a .4 ohm coil at 150w (or whatever 150w ACTUALLY is on the IPV3), I couldn't get a burnt taste/hot vapor because the airflow REALLY cools the coils. I was blown away by this alone, as the same build at the same wattage on my regular Tobh leads to a terribly tasting, uncomfortably hot, disgustingly dry vape. Also! The AFC has a "single coil" slot, which I haven't tried, but I imagine works awesome. Allows you to close off one side so you don't have an overly-airy vape for your single coil builds.

Most atomizers that have AFC, I usually leave on full-open mode, because the difference between holes blocked off/not is either too much restriction or not a noticeable difference. With the Doge, I've been utilizing the AFC to really get some of the tastiest vapors I've ever had. At ~75% closed it's about equivalent to the Tobh. At 50% closed, it's more like a Mutation X. At 25%-0%, it's a whole new kind of beast. The disclaimer on the Congrevape site says not to use the Doge while driving, and I can understand why.

One of my favorite parts, both aesthetically and functionally, is the heatsinks on the topcap. The doge has 8 heatsinks, and they REALLY work. With the Tobh, the heatsinks/fins seemed more an aesthetic choice, and didn't do much to dissipate heat. These fins are chunky and do a great job keeping my mouth from getting hot. I vaped till the atomizer itself was too hot to touch, yet the heat had barely traveled up to the fourth fin. But here's one complaint/oddity: The drip tip hole is slightly too small. I had to struggle to put in my Delrin drip-tip (which fits so well on all of my other devices), and now that it's in I doubt I'll ever be able to get it out. I took some vice grips to it last night, and nearly broke my wrist trying to yank the thing out. I ordered one of the competition top caps though, so it's not the hugest deal. I'm just kinda stuck with this drip tip in the Doge topcap, which isn't the worst thing. It's the only drip tip I have that fits the style of the Doge.

The deck is nice and easy to build on. Plenty of room, and the juice well is deep (on par with the Tobh, maybe a tiny bit deeper?) It's a 3-post design, but I'd love to see it expanded to a T-post style. The holes in the posts are nice and beefy, putting a dual parallel build wouldn't be too hard.

Every time I see the Doge face on the side of my atomizer, I smile a little. I have serial # 6467 (kinda cool number). Overall, I'm super impressed with this RDA. At the price point (~30$) it's absolutely worth the money. I truly cannot recommend this RDA enough, whether you're a cloud-chaser or someone just looking for a really flavorful, modifiable vape.

So a quick recap on the highlights:

- The heatsink/fins REALLY work to dissipate heat.
- The airholes are INSANE, and can be closed off to your preference/build.
- The build quality is great, and allows interchangeability between quite a few other RDA's.
- The price is right at ~30$.
- Spare parts (virtually a whole extra Doge worth of spare parts, minus the topcap/deck/middle part).
- You get to look at Doge every time you vape.
- Quality controlled, very very low device failure rate.

Again, this is a device that everyone should have in their arsenal. I cannot recommend it enough.

If anyone has any questions about specifics of the device, or anything they'd like to see in specific featured in the pictures, please let me know/ask away! I'll respond with whatever I can.
