-PLUME'S: Everything In 1 Spot For n00bs To Vaping- PART 2

Resistance- The LOWER the resistance, (resistance is also known as "ohms") the more power that is drawn from the battery. So typically, people like a 3.7v device with a low resistance atomizer or cartomizer. Typically, they like 1.5ohm to 1.7 to 2ohm cartomizers. (those are all low resistances) You need a 3.7 volt device to run low resistance atomizers/cartomizers... And, the 510 is not a low resistance battery. While the Bloog and the Volt ARE 3.7 volt devices, their batteries are TOO SMALL for low resistance atomizers/cartomizers. You can break your Bloog or your Volt battery if you use a low resistance atomizer or cartomizer with it.

So, typically, people like to go with the eGo batteries, because with a sharpie sized eGo battery, you can use a 2ohm low resistance atty(atomizer) or carto(cartomizer) with no worries of your battery breaking.

MODS- "MODS" are also known as "Big Battery Devices" and they are typically for the more advanced e-cigarette user, although I regularly recommend them to new users because I feel like new users may want to jump directly to the good stuff. lol.

A "Mod" is a big battery device. These are devices that can handle the lowest resistance attys and the lowest resistance cartos because they use BIG batteries. (they are also bigger devices, usually the width of a large cuban cigar cigar, but shorter) They have BIG 3.7 volt batteries which means you can use LOW resistance cartos and attys with them with NO fear of the battery breaking or shorting out on you. I love them. I personally own (at the moment) 2 eGos, 1 Bolt (The "Bolt" is a 3.7 volt big battery mod) and 1 Lavatube (The "Lavatube" is a big battery mod that allows you to change your voltage to your preferences, to match whatever attys or cartomizers you have)

Some of the best US made MODS are: The Silver Bullet, The BB, The Alpha, The Omega, (all from AltSmoke.com | Personal Vaporizers | Electronic Cigarette | Ecigs | Your one stop shop!) the Bolt (i have a Bolt and I love it) The Mantis, The Provape-1, The bombshell, The Chuck, epipemods, EmpireMod, GLV, VP2BB, roughstack, maxi-roughstack, super-T's, sabertouch, The Xhaler, anddddd the BAM mod

Then there are "APVs" and "variable voltage or variable wattage devices" ugh.. loooong post. lol.

1.) OK so the 510 batteries are small, low powered devices that aren't great for long term use.
2.) The Bloog and the Volt are the best small, cig style devices because they are 3.7 volts.BUT, their batteries are too small to use low resistance atomizers and cartomizers on. AND they both have bad battery lives between charges.. lasting only 2 to 4 hours depending on your usage.
3.) The eGos are the best cig style devices. They are bigger than a cigarette, about the width and length of a sharpie. [the 400mAh is smaller, the size of a cig, but still as fat as a sharpie, and still a bit too small for the lowest resistance attys and cartos) the 400mAh eGos also suffer from shorter battery life, lasting only 3 to 4 hours after each charge with regular use)
4.) The larger 650mAh, 900mAh, and 1600mAh batteries are much better with battery life AND you can use lower resisted (which means lower oHm) atomizers and cartomizers pretty successfully. (however you should stay away from the 1.5 and 1.7 ohm attys & cartos w/eGos)
5.) Big battery "Mods" are the biggest of the e-cig family and they have the best batteries. Mods have the BEST battery life, with the 18650 sized batteries lasting up to a day and a half with regular usage on the higher mAh rated batteries. (remember, the higher the mAh number, the LONGER the battery life) You can use *whatever* oHm atomizer or cartomizer you want with these, which means you'll get a great throat hit and great vapor production with each and every hit. BUT, you are trading these great features for size. These mods are a bit bigger than the smoker is used to. A lot of people use Mods while they are at home, and they use eGos while they are out. Some have a Bloog or Volt battery laying around for if they are going somewhere where they absolutely NEED to blend in with the other smokers. Get it now? Hopefully you do.

CARTOMIZER TANKS- These are tanks that you put around your cartomizer. You can fill the tanks up with juice, and the juice will seep into the cartomizer as you take drags, through holes punched into the sides of the cartomizer. This may be a short definition but I personally think tanks are 1 of the most IMPORTANT vaping accessories. Tanks make vaping SO MUCH EASIER and they have the power to make a vaporer's life SO MUCH EASIER. Instead of filling your cartomizer every 5 puffs, or dripping into your atomizer every 5 puffs, the juice will automatically go from the big tank around your carto, into your carto, where it will then be vaporized by the heating coils. Get it? These saved my life man. I love tanks.

REBUILDABLE CARTOMIZERS AND ATOMIZERS: Rebuildable cartos and attys hit the market not too long ago and a lot of people consider them to be a much better investment than buying disposable atomizers and cartomizers. Instead of buying a new pack of attys or cartos when your running out, you can now buy just 1 rebuildable atty or carto and when it begins to break down, you can clean it, and ultimately, when it finally does poop out, you can buy new heating coils for it, and new fiber for it. (which is much cheaper... however its also MUCH more involved, and the REBUILD-ABLE tanks are more for the more experienced and more professional vaporers in my opinion. Where I think EVERY vaporer should have at least 1 carto tank, these rebuildable tanks are definitely for the more advanced. k?

APV stands for Advanced Personal Vaporizers. These are also known as "Genesis Style Devices" and they are also known as "All in 1 units" They usually consist of a rebuildable carto, or a rebuildable atomizer. (I'll get into those later) Then they have the tube that holds the battery, and a lot of times, its either telescoping or interchangeable with other length tubes to allow for different voltage batteries. (some batteries are 3.7 volts, like the 18650, and there are smaller 3.7v batteries, there are combinations of two batteries which are each 3 volts, which will get you to a 6 volt device.. There are many different batteries with different voltages, and a lot of the "APV" devices allow you to use any you'd like. (effectively turning the device into a "variable voltage" device" k?)

VARIABLE VOLTAGE DEVICES: These are devices that allow you to pick your voltage. So it doesn't matter what resistance (ohm) carto or atty you buy, you can tune the voltage to give you a good hit from any ohm atty or carto. For instance, LOW resistance attys and cartos are good at 3.7 volts, 4 volts, 4.3 to 4.5 volts, you know? But MID resistance, aka MID ohm attys and cartos are better suited for 5volts. So, if you find a good deal on MID ohm cartos or attys, you can use them on your vari-volt device and they will hit hard and hit good. get it? there are many VV, aka vari volt, aka variable voltage devices on the market today. The most popular include: The Lavatube, The Provari, The Vmax, The Zmax, The Diamante, The VVGripper, The BuzzPro, and many, many others I'm NOT typing! lol.

VARIABLE WATTAGE DEVICES: These are similar to vari volt devices in that they give you the ability to fine tune your voltage to match your atty or carto resistance/ohm. The difference from variable voltage device in vari wattage devices, is that once you fine tune it once with ANY atty or carto at ANY resistance/ohm, it will automatically know what voltage to use on ANY resistance/ohm atomizer or cartomizer you put on it after fine tuning it that first time. It won't matter if you buy 2ohm or 3ohm, 1.5ohm or 1.7ohm, the variable wattage device will automatically pick the wattage and voltage that fit the atty/carto you've put on the device. Get it? I seriously hope so because I can't write it much clearer.

SO, what have we learned?
THIS IS WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO START VAPING:
1.) a PV (PV stands for personal vaporizer)
2.) you may want at least 1 atomizer so that you can try directly dripping your juice
3.) I seriously recommend you get yourself a cartomizer tank with an extra punched carto.
4.) BATTERY: you'll need a battery & a charger that will charge ur batteries. I recommend getting at least 2 batteries, 1 for in your vaporizer and 1 to charge while your using the other. IF YOU HAVE BOUGHT A 510, A VOLT, OR A BLOOG, YOU DO NOT NEED TO BUY A BATTERY. IF YOU BOUGHT A BLOOG/VOLT, THE BATTERY IS INCLUDED. IF YOU BOUGHT AN EGO STYLE DEVICE, YOU WILL NOT NEED A BATTERY EITHER, AS THE BATTERY IN THESE ARE INCLUDED INSIDE THE DEVICE. HOWEVER, YOU WILL NEED TO BUY THE CHARGER THAT CORRESPONDS TO YOUR PARTICULAR DEVICE. I RECOMMEND BUYING A 2 BATTERY KIT WHEN IT COMES TO BLOOGS, VOLTS, AND EGOS for NEW VAPORERS. THAT WAY THE COMPANY YOU BUY FROM WILL PUT IT ALL TOGETHER FOR YOU. K?

Well, thats it. I think I screwed up the order of some of these paragraphs but whatever its all here. have fun with your new Vape hobby!
