The *SIRIUS II*

The Sirius II, from vape Art, Greece

USER REVIEW

A Top-Firer, 21mm fully Mechanical Stainless Steel mod, with some nice aspects to it! I received it recently and had been extensively using it. The more I play with this device - the more I seem to like it; and thus thought of sharing my opinion here.

A Week into
Siriusness II...

For one, this is not our regular bottom-firer or the pinky buttoned. And neither is it the usual thumb switch. Yes, tad Poldacish, but with a minimalistic design! Easy to dismantle, clean, refit and fires everytime without fail. And yep, it's exactly a week now at my hand... and oh boy! It looks so sweet!

SPECS:
-Design: Non-telescopic, non-sectional. Comes in four selectable tube configs (like the GP Paps)
-Construction: Made of 304 Stainless Steel with Brass end-caps
-Finish: We get a choice of choosing 'Brushed' or 'Polished', or a 'Combo'
-Purchase flexibility: Tube sizes are upon choice for purchase (keeps initial costs low)
-Breakup: The mod comes in Three parts. The Body Tube, a Switch Section and the 510 Head
-Dimensions: OD=21mm, Length: 18350=68.5mm, 18500=84.5mm, 18650=98.5mm, 18800=113.5mm

*NOTE: I selected the 18350 mode with 'brushed' body-tube and 'polished' switch unit.

This thing is seriously rocking! Good performance, effortless firing, contemporary looks and a perfect vape experience. I am typically a bottom switch guy, but since got into liking this mod and it has become one of my carry-along devices now. It is easy to manoeuvre, absolutely pocket friendly.... yes on both counts -- (a)safe to toss and be forget, AND (b)inexpensive for its class... though every bit a hi-end device!

I have tossed as many Attys over it and everyone of them sit flush b'coz of it's adjustable POS. The airway slits ensure that each breathe as well, thus this mod is a total top friendly unit. The switch mechanism is unique too. The firing button is both flushed as well as finger loving. It's not touch sensitive, thus offering the right amount of drive and attrition to play it safe while not in use, but actuates under the right pressure as well - which, surprisingly, shall work with our fingers but not with anything else (due to it's spherical footprint). I had no issues carrying it in my pockets, bags, pouches and even while just rolling it off into the car boot, seats, wherever.

This mod is also constructed well. Each part is nicely machined, fits into one another smoothly and securely. Note also that the device is sold in piece units -- various Tube Sizes and the Switch Sections (which is coupled with the top-cap). Thus, the variables are many and tolerances needed to be in control. Which, the modder (George Sifakis) has done stupendously well. I've also taken it apart, cleaned each portion and reassembled everything with ease. This mod is simple to dismantle and refit - doable by the noobest of the vapers. And it's also roll-proof... can be left horizontally - as it'd not move forward due to that very slightly protruding firing button (which to the naked eye is flushed).

The battery compartment is well sealed from the other parts of the device (the Switch Section) by a stout Delrin Washer, which actually is a solid part by itself. The tube has a large vent-hole in the bottom for emergency escape of gasses. And the body tube is solidly built with nice gauge Stainless Steel, which shall offer enough sturdiness to hold it's ground in cases of any eventualities. Overall the device is robust, with the right materials used and very reassuring.

CONS: Nothing serious, none whatsoever in its operability... however, I feel that it's overall length could have been slightly reduced if both, the Switch Unit and the Body Tube, were cut by a few millimetres each. I'm of the opinion that there's a little space wastage inside. The battery tube takes in 'protected' ICRs too - which is unnecessary since IMRs are the preferred choice among mechanicals. Thus, there could go about 3-4mm. Then, the Switch Unit. I've noticed that given it's design it's actually a space saviour... so chopping it by about 3-4mm is perfectly possible. Thus, there is a scope to reduce the overall length of this device by at least 6-8mm. Which could make the mod all the more stealthy from what it already is.

BOTTOMLINE: It's a week now that I'm severely using this mod. Have carried it with me to all errands, tossed it around, as well as chain-vaped over it. Wherein, I'm of the opinion that it indeed is a nicely crafted, strongly manufactured, well designed and perfectly performing fully-mechanical mod. Which is also available at a bargain price for its quality. I thus, have no qualms in recommending the Sirius II SS to anyone. It is a good value for our money!
