Kayfun lite: Double Microcoil & Cotton Setup

Double Decker : Doubled the Pleasure!
How To: Twin Micro-coils on kayfun Lite

1. KFL WASHED-UP AND WORKSPACE ARRANGED:

Attention: Don't ever forget the Multimeter. This is your 'most important' tool at rebuilding!

4. COIL PLACED AND SQUEEZED:

Note: The real benefits of a Micro-coils come out when they are tight-rolled, virtually in 'short'.

5. COIL POSITIONING:

Note that the 'spiral' of the coil is upwards with their tails at the bottom, the ones which'd get attached to the +/- posts. This is how I position all my coils on every Atty. Note also the gap I left between the coil and the air-hole in the base. I typically maintain around 1mm space, which gives me the best VTF. Remember, the closer you are to the air-channel - higher the vapor production, the further you move away - more TH. It's pertinent to find a sweet spot here, which'd come by experience.

Caution: Do not touch the coil to the base, it'd result in a dead short. -DANGER

10. INSPECTING THE DOUBLE MICRO-COILS :

11. DOUBLE MICRO-COILS FIRED:

16. WICKS INSERTED AND TRIMMED:

Trimmed each tail-end to 1cm.

19. WICK ENDS POSITIONED:

Note the wick-ends are just sitting/touching the bridge. I didn't make them longer to overtly lie there (as I'd do with Silica or EkoW) b'coz it'd've cramped up the space and constrained the juice flow. Remember, cotton swells like hell and remains so till there's juice in the chamber. Besides, they'd also sag and settle down a bit further than when we had initially placed them.

20. WICKS INSIDE THE CHAMBER:

Closed the chamber tube, tucked the wicks a bit towards the bottom.

21. WICKS TEST FIRED:

Dripped about 8-9 drops of juice and voilà!

BOTTOMLINE:
It's a cumbersome setup, took me over three hrs. Of course mainly b'coz it was my first attempt, which needed more deliberation. But, if you are into double the pleasure... everything doubled(!), a warm vape, an aromatic vape (yep, this gets to a room full of refreshing scents! Ah, some of our e-juices really smell wonderful, don't they?) and if you are contemplating reducing your nic content -- this is the way to go. Did I hear, "it hits like a freight train" somewhere?

Comments

What about those of us that use ekowool? I am not new to rebuilding, but I am new to the Kayfun. My ekowool always seems to be a daunting task when attempting microcoils. I've wanted to attempt the dual, but the amount of wick used is an ever present struggle it seems.
