Rebuilt Coil = Win

Finally stuck one of my rebuilt coils on my Aerotank.
It's 2.8ohms (I like my ohms high so this is perfect, and about how the genuine kanger (2.2ohm) coils were reading on my MVP (which were coming out to 2.7ohms)) with a 2mm braided silica (ekowool) wick and a cotton flavor wick. (decided to build these with silica for the main wick just because it seemed easier, and because I can just wrap the wire around the wick that way)

I am extremely satisfied with my results. ^_^
Vapes like a champ, getting really good vapor production, and the flavor isn't bad either! (it might be a little muted... but not sure since I just threw a juice in there that I made with too little flavoring so that I could finish off the vial and remake it)

Decided it was time to switch out the coil because vapor production was down and clearly the old coil was pretty well gummed up.

Was a little concerned I was going to throw the coil in there and come to find out that I put too much wick in there, but clearly was not a problem.

This is officially the second kanger coil I've built and tested that came out perfect! ^_^

*happy dance*

Edit: After putting it in a tank and pulling some juice through the coil, I'm getting consistent 2.4ohm readings on the MVP. I was a little concerned since it jumped 0.4ohms, but after looking around, I guess this is pretty normal. Provided it's consistent now, I'm pretty sure I don't have a short (though upon putting it on the MVP, while the wick was getting broken in, the readings were... kinda all over the place (from 3.3ohms-2.4ohms), so I was a little concerned.

What people say about rebuilt coils just being better appears to be true. I don't think I've gotten so much vapor production off of a stock coil! I'm not even sure how I pulled that off, but DAMN.
Also, put a juice in there that's got more flavor and I don't think I'm having a problem with muted flavor. The banana tastes damn amazing and rather strong (even though the percentage is bellow 15% (I think it's at about 10%)).

Furthermore, on a note... I wonder why people have wicking issues with primarily VG liquids. I'm going to start playing around with more PG in my liquids mostly for the heck of it (also because I wanted to see how the flavor in my juices will vary - I have a strawberry 70/30 (pg/vg) liquid steeping in my cupboard right now - since that's the flavor I have vaped the most of (finally finished off the 4ml vial of flavoring), that it would be a good one for testing the flavoring))... but I haven't yet had a single problem with the VG juices wicking properly (and I don't add distilled water to any of my juices).
I suppose if I were working with a top-fed tank, I'd notice the difference (and this is specifically why I'm going to see if I like/can handle the throat hit of PG --- because I've heard that genesis-style attys have better flavor)... but at this point I just haven't had a single issue with it.

Furthermore: I am under the conclusion that the funky taste I was getting at higher voltages had nothing to do with the juice and everything to do with the coils. I'm not sure what exactly it was, but I popped the rebuilt coil on to the MVP and cranked up the wattage as high as it would go, and I'm not having that weird taste. I'm thinking what was going on is that the older kanger coils used rubber, and I was essentially cooking the rubber. Of course, it might also be that the juices I'm vaping today have been steeping for quite awhile.... but the old coil I had in there had the same problem with high voltages, and the new one isn't having that problem.... so it might be a difference in the coil, or it might be that I was vaping chocolate the other day (a flavor I found had that problem) --- but it was only at the tail end of long drags that I was having that issue, so I think it's the coil. On one of the old coils, the gasket appeared to not be silicone (it was solid off-white, rather than kinda an opaque white)... which I threw out and chose not to rebuild because of it's color... but I'm wondering if perhaps this is the issue, rather than the flavoring.

You know what's really funny though?
13 years of being a smoker... and I never knew how to blow Os... and now that I'm a vaper, I've learned.

Even my significant other thinks this is funny.
