Aerotank Mini Review

I’ve been looking at this tank for awhile. I own the original (V1) Aerotank and it’s hands-down my favorite tank. The original Aerotank has a nice smooth draw and produces a TON of vapor (honestly rivaling even my RBAs (but I like my ohms high)).

I have been using EVODs and T3Ds for my out-and-about tanks and was getting extremely frustrated with flooding issues that seems to be painfully common for these tanks. (Admittedly, everything's always fixed by blowing out the coils and just cleaning stuff)

So here’s my run down, note that some of this is simply a comparison to the original Aerotank:

Pros:

  • Thus far holds up as well as original Aerotank as far as flooding issues. I haven’t had it flood yet (I just got it in the mail a day ago... so.....), but I imagine as the coil breaks down, I’ll be seeing this the same as I do after I’ve had a coil in the the original for about a week (note: the V2 coils do a lot better at keeping back flooding than the V1 coils, but I did notice that after the coil starts to get old that those same problems keep happening - though not as badly).
  • Smooth/airy draw (with the airflow open all the way)
  • Vapor production is good, about on par with the original
  • Good flavor (probably better than the original)
  • Airflow base is WAY better than the Aerotank V1 (the V2 uses the same design though), smoother and more efficient. I sincerely like the new airflow control better - and I think pretty much every vaper with an Aerotank can agree.
  • If you don’t like glass, it comes with a metal piece as well… the metal tank piece feels really heavy and solid... I imagine it would hurt pretty bad if you dropped it on your toe.
  • Removeable mouth piece/drip tip!

Cons:

  • Small capacity (1-1.5mls)
  • Because it’s about the size of the EVOD, but built like the original Aerotank… this sadly means a very small spot to put juice… I found filling it was more challenging than filling even an EVOD or T3. Juice gets trapped very easily and it can take some work to dislodge bubbles so the tank can be completely filled. (It would probably be far easier to fill with a blunt-tip syringe than to use a dropper bottle… also I'm not sure this would be a problem with higher pg liquids)
  • As with the original, there’s some unused space in the tank… while this isn’t a big deal, it does look a little off-putting considering how much empty space there appears to be… not to say that there’s actually a lot, but because it’s a thin tank it looks like about 1/4-2/3 of it is empty after filling.
  • Treading where the base connects to the tank is very tight and makes a painful scratching noise when screwing/unscrewing. (Don’t know if this will bother other people, but if scratchy noises of metal scraping metal bothers your ears… its... pretty awful)

All-in-all a solid tank, and except for a couple small quirks (mostly just because it’s a small tank), it’s pretty on-par with the original Aerotank, in my personal opinion.

With the glass tank piece on it, it’s light enough to sit on my EGO C-Twist, on the lanyard, without tipping upside down - which is exactly what I wanted out of it.

It’s certainly replacing my T3s and EVODs.
