RIAFlight25-An Introduction

Hey everyone!

Ive been around ECF since February, and happily vaping ever since. When I first started there were so many awesome people that gave me all the info I could want, and truly helped save my life.

I tried to figure out how I could give back. Besides the usual participation in general posts. And it hit me! I work in a very unique industry where there seem to be a ton of questions about vaping!

So I decided I would start my blog here at ECF, and talk about all the different aspects of PV's and travelling the world! I will work on a few FAQ entries, as well as give regular trip reports about what airports, countries, hotels, and airlines I have vaped in. Any requests for information or if you have any suggestions for my blog, please feel free to PM me!

I figured I would start by telling you a little about myself, and my job.

I am just a 27 year old guy from Chicago. I have been working in the airline industry for almost two years now as an International Flight Attendant. Before working as a flight attendant, for 8 years prior I worked in the medical field as a Certified Surgical Technologist, and attended 1st year classes at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. I decided I needed a break from medical school, and wanted to see the world, learn more about myself and other cultures, and just in general get more worldly experience to make me a better doctor someday! So here I am.

I work for a charter airline as an International Flight Attendant. We are a charter company so pretty much anyone can hire us to get you where you need to go, but we primarily fly military passengers on deployment overseas.

In the past two years, I have had the privelege of seeing 37 countries, and meeting some amazing people, not to mention gaining some insanely crazy stories along the road...sometime I hope to get a chance to share some of my favorites with you.

Most of the month my time is spent overseas taking care of our troops on their flights. For the most part, I work for 18-20 days overseas, and then have 10 days off a month. Its a hectic lifestyle, but a pretty sweet gig!

In addition to visiting 37 countries, I have spent a total of 1,179 hours in the air. This comes out to equal approximatelly 49 days of true air time. According to flightmemory.com, I have traveled 511,687 miles... enough to circle the earth at its widest point 20.55 times. So Ive got a few notches on my belt when it somes to globe trotting.

I actually began to take on vaping because of the LONG hours I spend on the plane not being able to smoke, and before long I began doing it more, and smoking less before quitting all together.

Hopefully I can dispell some of the myths of air travel and PV's that are out there, or at least share some of the experiences I have had while vaping overseas.

Please, once again. If you have any quesions or requests for blog entries, please feel free to post or PM me!

Let this Journey begin! Safe Travels!

Interesting job! I just took my first flight in October of 08 and LOVED it. I did however HATE the fact that I was always trying to fit in a smokebreak at the nearest smokelounge in the ATL airport while traveling.

I used to be on a plane 40 weeks out of the year with a job I no longer (thankfully) have. I love flying! HATE airports!

Hey, you might be a flight attendent for my husband's flight back home. Or you could have been for his flight to.

We love military flight attendents, they are always so much nicer than all the regular ones I've ever gotten. I guess it's different from a regular flight to a military flight. Thanks for the info.

I think your company probably flew me all over the middle east. XD If it's Omni, that is.

My favorite memory of flying with them is being shown Oliver Twist on Super Bowl Sunday after coming off a deployment. I know that's not your fault, but COME ON! :p

LOL Smokin....

Nope Im not Omni, they are actually our competitors! But after hearing about Oliver Twist, It looks like we are in the lead. :p

Sorry about that experience. lol Hopefully next time your unit will travel with us. Besides we have nicer planes. :)
