Notes

So, I've been trying to decide how to track what I'm doing, what I like, and what I don't like. Not really a video person, so youtube is out. Can't stand Failbook, so the Notes there are not a great option. This seems like the logical place, so here we go.

I smoked my last cigarette on August 30th, 2014. It was a Wednesday. My very first vaporizer, the one I'm using now, is a gorgeous purple Vision Spinner II. Let's chronicle that first. I love the variable voltage option, but I'm still so new that I haven't really had a chance to use it much yet. The juices I've bought so far (from only one company) are just perfect at 3.8, so there it's stayed. Hopefully I'll get to utilize that feature at some point, but for now I'm just grateful that this puppy actually seems to maintain the voltage no matter what life the battery has when I vape. I've taken it pretty darn low, and it still powers through on like a champ. I only payed $35 for the kit I got (battery, charger, and EVOD Glass tank), and I feel like I got a great deal just for the battery alone. I love that the button is also a battery meter; it changes color for how much life the battery has left. For a noodlebrain like me, that's useful. The only thing I don't like is how long it takes to charge. It's a 1650 mAh battery, though, so it's not surprising or unreasonable that it should take 6 hours to charge. It's now September 11 and I've had problems charging it for the past several days (about two or three times I've tried to charge it), however. The button stays orange even when the batter is charged enough for it to be blue, and it takes several more hours to fill up. I'm not sure if this is a batter issue, my PC through which I charge it, or the charger itself. The Joytech charger that came with my kit is I what am using, and the manufaturer's website states that it should work just fine, but after search these forums for advice I've found other people have this issue as well and sometimes it's the charger. Upon advice I found here, I have ordered another charger, and if this does not resolve the issue, my next step will be to seek out a charge that charges from a wall outlet rather than a USB to rule out any issues with the USB ports on my PC. Conclusion: Great battery life, damn good sustained voltage even when low, twist to change voltage = so much better than button-mashing, beautiful color, perfect size, charging issues being examined.

Now... the EVOD Glass tank. Oh, this thing... *sigh* When I got it, it had the "old" style coil in, and let me tell you, it's a darn good thing they did away with that awful design. Let's just say the silly thing was defective and move on. The seller was kind enough to send me a replacement coil, however, and I was recently therefore actually ably to use it. I've got mixed feelings about this tank. It's a lovely shade of purple that rather nicely compliments my battery and the flavor from it is ok, but nothing about it has really blown my mind. I actually get better flavor from my Kangar T2 tank; I'll go over that next. Anyway. I find the tank to be really tiny. Let me be clear: the tank itself is not small, it's about standard size from what I have seen. However, when attempting to fill it, the middle stem is so short that you can hardly fill it 2/3 full. Two thirds is your full tank, and with as much as I vape, that's just not cutting it to be my main tank. Once I get some money saved up to buy more equipment, I'll probably put juice in this tank that I don't vape as my main juice, just so that I don't have to refill it so often. One thing that I do really like about this tank is that the flavor is very clean. When I first got the new coil, it has this kind of soapy aftertaste; I had to run it through water a few times and go through a few tanks of juice, but it's disappearing now and the flavors just seem more clear somehow. On the other hand, I kind of chain vape frequently, and the base of this tank tends to get warm. It makes me a little worried about vaping hard off it regularly; I'm not sure what kind of damage heat can do to both the tank and the battery, and I'd rather not find out by being irresponsible about it. I'm also not impressed with the vapor production. I watched so many reviews on youtube for this tank just raving about the vapor production, but I guess my little "new vapor" start-up equipment just isn't the ideal setup for it. I'm using 100% VG juice, too, so I was a little disappointed. Oh well, it's still got some rather nice points, and overall I'm happy with it. I just wish it didn't always leave a little juice on my battery pin every time I used it. Conclusion: matches the battery, gorgeous styling, nice detachable (but not interchangable) tip with o-ring to keep it snug, not possible to completely fill, gets hot when vaping moderately, tends to leave a small amount of juice on the battery pin after any regular vaping (heavy or not).

The first tank I actually bought was the Kangar T2 Sunfire bottom-coil. I bought it before I bought my kit, in anticipation of getting the perfect battery later once I had done some research and decided on the best option for me. Sadly, this tank also shipped with an outdated coil which, while functional originally, had to be replaced right after I started using it. After the coil replacement, I have had very few issues with it. It's a good tank. Vapor production is nice, even if not massive, and the tank is comparatively HUGE, which means I don't have to refill it more than once a day (Yay!). It doesn't leak, or at least, it doesn't leave quite as much as the EVOD Glass on my battery, and I just can't laud praises upon bottom coil tanks enough. I really don't want to have to bother with a bunch wicks right now since I'm just starting out, and having the coil on the bottom has really been awesome for me. The only thing I guess I don't like so much about this tank is that the tip is permanently affixed, but as I don't really have an issue with taking my time to clean it thoroughly, this has not been an issue for me yet. Also, it's a nice smoke color, not that pretty-but-too-bright-for-my-battery purple color, and it actually sits almost flush on my battery, so I rather like how it looks. For the money I paid, this tank was a wonderful investment, and I would highly recommend it to anyone just starting out, or even for anyone who would like a couple of tanks with good capacity to use in their daily vaping rotation. Conclusion: economical, not color matching but still compliments battery nicely, great capacity for juice, possible to overfill, no removable tip.

I went over the character limit (lol!) so I am separating this into two parts. This is the end of part 1. Thank you for reading. ♥
