Less analogs, more coughing.

I'm curious to know how these e-cigs act on your lungs. That is to say, will I get "Vapers Cough"? XD

I got my e-cig on the 4th of January. Before that I was smoking a pack of analogs a day. Yesterday, I smoked a total of 6 analogs. Today, I am going to try to make it three. I've already had one. The 'wake up' analog. Now I will save the other two for after meals. It should be easy peasy.

The e-cig has saved my life. And I mean that in every literal way possible. Both of my parents were heavy smokers, and studies have shown that when a child is raised in an environment where everyone around them smokes, they will most likely end up smoking, too. And not just my parents, but my grandparents, and almost all of my aunts and uncles. It was almost a part of life in my household. It seemed like the right thing to do.

But it wasn't. Not only because smoking is bad for anyone, but especially for me. I was born one month late. My mother was obese. 600lbs to be exact. The saunograms had a hard time determining how far along she was. So they guessed, and they guessed wrong.

During my mothers labor, I apparently had to take a poo. So I pooed right there, then I inhaled it. Yeah. It's gross. It's call Maeconium (sp?) Aspiration.

Today, this is easy to deal with. Although I don't know the specifics, I know that I have met parents of young children who dealt with it and they are no worse for the wear, I am really jealous of them.

Because 22 years ago, they didn't have such good grips on it. They did not expect me to live. At all. Basically, they put me on 100% oxygen and then siphoned out my lungs for a few days. They put hoses down through my neck into my lungs and then back out. And they kept them there until the water ran clear.

Due to the amount of Oxygen I was on, they assumed me to be deaf, blind, and ......ed. I am neither of those three. 2 years after the procedure, they were shocked, just SHOCKED to see me developing normally and wanted to conduct many tests, which my parents said no to.

I didn't come out of this experience unscathed. Aside from a nasty scar on my neck, my right lung is severely undeveloped and covered in scar tissue.

I should NOT be smoking. Doctors said that if I continued to smoke, I could develop lung cancer roughly 15 - 20 years before that of a person with fully functioning lungs. But I smoked anyway. 1 pack a day, sometimes 1 1/2 packs. I was a ....ing CHIMNEY.. Until I ordered my E-Cig.

Inside of two days, I have cut down to 3 cigarettes a day. Amazing.

Thank you, e-cig. Thank you.

Congrats!

I have heard of what you went through. It is talked about in all baby books (for expectant parents) and considered a possiblity.
sorry to hear that they didn't have a clue and only made things worse, but GOOD FOR YOU for moving past that!
