The forums have been buzzing with positive feedback of Mountain Oak Vapors, a new e-liquid maker out of Tennesses. I checked them out, and ordered two 15ml try-it packs. The flavours I chose were MOV Gold, Devilish Delight, Heavenly 7, Smooth and Mild, Just Peachy, and the well-loved CountRY4.
They arrived about 10 days later, well-packed in bubble wrap and a padded envelope. All the bottles were amber glass aromatherapy-type with rubber droppers. Excellent. The labels are silver with each flavour checked off. Cannot yet tell if the labels are drip-proof. Also pleased that MOV offers the option of first-class overseas shipping rather than Priority which is a minimum of $16.
DEVLILISH DELIGHT-- This is described as a caramel cheesecake on the site. It is indeed a creamy, lush cheesecake not dissimilar to others on the market. Unfortunately it is marred with a persistent licorice flavor. I can taste the sweet cheesecake and caramel struggling to get out. I have turned the voltage from 3.8 to 4.4 on my EGO-Twist and the result is the same. I like this flavor a lot so I will keep it in the hopes that the licorice disappears and allows the cheesecake to break free.
MOV GOLD--Many reviewers I trust have expressed positive views of this honey-flavoured tobacco. I had such faith in it that I loaded it into one of my big expensive 5ml EGO DCCs. It is indeed a winner, and certainly not your average tobacco. Warm tobacco base, verging on aromatic but not quite. The honey is just a drop and smooths the planty edges of the tobacco. I quite adore this.
JUST PEACHY--This is the same Smooth and Mild base tobacco (which I also ordered solo) with peach added. I'm not usually such a fan of fruity tobaccos but this unexpected delight is a treat. The peach merges perfectly with the tobacco to produce a flavour that is just magnificent. Imagine putting a dried peach into a humidor of top-notch pipe tobacco. When you remove it after a few days, it would smell like Just Peachy. Thank you MOV for opening up this world. I will be sure to try the blueberry and the apple next.
HEAVENLY 7--Probably inspired by a 7-layer bar, this liquid tastes strongly of chocolate and coconut. I have not previously liked either of these flavours in E-liquid form, but by some mountainy-oakish alchemy they taste amazing in this. At the moment I detect nothing but choc and coconut and the faint aftertaste of graham crust. Another good choice.
CLASSIC COUNTRY4--Not unlike MOV GOLD but---different. It does not have honey taste like MOV GOLD but I am not certain that I taste either vanilla or caramel. Still, it is a deliciously smooth vape that I really like, and I bet it will evolve with steeping time.
I haven't tried the Smooth and Mild yet on its own since I am a bit low on cartomizers. But overall I have no compunction about heartily recommending Mountain Oak Vapors to anyone who wants some interesting flavours that are obviously crafted by hand with love. Definitely not the same-old same-old. Big winners are Just Peachy and MOV GOLD.
