My Vaping Story

So every vaper has a story.

Every story is often told when people ask about the vaping.

I am going to tell you I loved smoking. I enjoyed the habit, I enjoyed the taste, and I enjoyed being able to get up and walk away from something or someone with the excuse of having a smoke.

At my height I smoked between 3 and 5 packs a day. All depended on the day and what I was doing. Towards the end of the smoke habit I was down to a pack and a half to two packs a day. Work largely slowed my habit.

My writing partner and very best good friend had moved off to Colorado to take care of his ailing mother. While he was there, he discovered he could no longer afford to smoke as much as he did in Texas.

Go figure. More expensive in Colorado.

So he was researching, and decided on Electronic Cigarettes. Specifically a kr808 kit that used pre-filled cartomizers.

He bought one, and enjoyed it. He enjoyed it so much he decided to buy me one and send it on so I could enjoy it.

When the kit arrived the novelty of it was awesome. Hey, I can use these AT WORK. I don't have to go outside. They kinda taste like a cigarette, if I had a cold and lost sense of taste. So I started puffing away.

I was pushing through those prefilled cartos at a rate of about 2 or 3 a day, and still going through a pack of cigarettes.

That began my quest which to this day has not ended.

There has to be better than this little battery and this prefilled system. There just HAS to be.

Research led me to the discovery that you could refill those things. Which was awesome because I had like 300 or 400 empties in a box. Searched online for nicotine liquid and came across DFWVapor.com. Ordered 3 bottles, Marlboro, Belgian Waffle, and Cheesecake.

Began boiling out the carts, and drying them, then filling them. I was still going through 3 to 4 a day along with a pack of cigarettes, but at 14 dollars to fill 30 carts it was WAY more affordable.

I still wasn't satisfied. All the videos I watched, everyone had these giant clouds of vapor. What was I doing wrong? What didn't I know.

More research, more searching. One of the guys that worked at DFWVapor.com and I began talking a bit, and he suggested the eGo-T kit. Easier to refill, more power, more vapor. I scrounged up my monies and bought what I thought was an insanely high costing kit. More juice flavors.

The eGo-T was amazing, I got lots of vapor and flavor, and I thought it was the end of analog cigarettes as I knew it. The only problem was, I didn't know how to accurately use it. So I caused it to leak, and seep, and basically become not enjoyable. So I was still using analogs when I couldn't make the eGo-T work but I was down to less than half a pack a day.

During all my trials and tribulations with my quest, my very best good friend was still using the kr808 kit and loving it. He had moved on to refilling them as well but he was satisfied.

I thought something was wrong with me, because I just wasn't happy. I had been through 50 or 60 flavors, 2 different style kits, and I was still unhappy.

It was about a year into the quest at this point, and I was feeling like I would never succeed. Then I met Buddha76. He had been an even HEAVIER smoker than me, and he was enjoying vaping. So I pestered that guy daily. He had just become the customer service department for DFWVapor.com. I was constantly emailing, skyping, and talking to him. Trying to determine what was wrong.

He had one bit of advice for me. Variable Voltage, and Atomic Fireball.

He helped me track down a modder than he knew, ordered my first boxmod which to this day is in use by my very best good friend.

There I was waiting on the boxmod to show up, eagerly anticipating the new world that was about to be opened to me. I was surfing stickam channels and came across TVN and Tek. Tek was a fan of my zombie stuff so he and I became pretty good friends. He walked me through building my very first 5v regulated box. There I was 2 days out from getting my first variable voltage mod, and I had built this ugly kr808 5v regulated box.

I had the atomic fireball and enough kr808 carts to supply an army, so I filled one up and put it on the box.

That day, the world changed. I had the feeling I needed, and picking up a pack of smokes was foreign to me. I used the hell out of that box until my 510 variable voltage box showed up.

I put my first mod on a shelf and abandoned the kr808's all together. The quest to get better continues. But one thing is the same, I'm still vaping.

I owe my success to my very best good friend, another great friend by the name of Buddha76, and Tek for helping me build that first box.

A lot has changed since that day 2 years ago when I got my first taste of real power. I now know how to properly use an eGo kit, and can get very satisfying vapor out of it. I understand that power isn't what makes a good vape, proper use does. I continue to search out and buy new equipment to try and improve an experience I already enjoy.

Education is what changed my life. Well education and very good friends.

But that's a story for another time.

Talk later.

Vaping the Fireball now --- Half a bottle and still can't get enough. I'm told it will get old but hope that doesn't happen anytime soon.
