Cig-A-Like Or No?

When many people make the transition from smoking to vaping they normally start with something that looks a lot like a cigarette.

The little batteries generally have a 2 hour life span and a pre-filled cartidge. No buttons to press, nothing to do but put it in your mouth and take a drag. Little LED on the tip makes it even look like it's burning.

Models include greensmoke, blu, njoy, and others. Typically found in convenience stores, tobacco stores, and other places like that.

Some people can use these and be completely satisfied. Some people find them weak, short lived, and unable to fill their needs.

There are some bigger models of similar products. The 510, the KR808, the Joyetech eRoll, and others. Which provide a more satisfying experience. Still have the short lived battery life though.

Personally I don't like to recommend a smaller device, or "Cig-A-Like" to anyone who smokes more than half a pack of traditional cigarettes a day. Mainly because the battery life isn't going to be enough for them.

You don't have to go with the giant phallic devices that provide the variable voltage, wattage, high amps, and exploding power that runs off six car batteries. A simple eGo style kit will provide the power and life most people need when they get started.

eGo kits are about the size of a slim cigar. They come in several sizes from tiny to long. The best part is for the most part they're 510 threaded so most juice delivery systems work well on them. Most people pick a simple system like a vivi-mini, kanger, evod, or other style "clearomizer".

A "clearomizer" is a see through system generally with a wicking set up of some kind, some of the industry names for these are CE4, CE5, CE8, etc. They provide ease of use, and ad affordability. Which let's be honest is what most people initially set out looking for.

For a pack a day smoker, the proper setup can determine success or failure.

Of course that's if you don't get bit by the hobby side of vaping.

That of course is a story for a different time.

Talk more later.
