Pass Thru Batteries and You

Many people want to start vaping, but think the cost is prohibitive.

Which in some cases, it very well could be. Say you're buying a ProVari.

Granted owning a ProVari enters you into an exclusive club, opens doors to parties, lets you date the best people, and keeps the IRS from looking too closely at your bank history. But who the hell wants to blow close to 200 dollars on something they're not even sure will work?

Starter kits are kind of scary, since they appear as if they're going to cost entirely too much. Two batteries? Who's got time for that?

An often overlooked and under utilized bit of equipment is the pass thru.

It's a battery, that can be used while it's plugged in. Many models are also stand alone batteries that you can take off the plug and use like a normal carry cigarette.

Throw in a cheap clearomizer and BOOM you've got a poor man's starter kit for just over what you'd spend on a couple of disposable e-cigs.

It gives you the option to try electronic cigarettes without a heavy investment. Gives you the chance to get to know operation, use, and flavor.

I remember when I got my first eGo-T kit, and a fine young fellow by the name of Matt who worked at DFWVapor.com and I were chatting one day.

I was ordering the 1000mah batteries because, well because I had more sense than money at that moment. Matt talked me into making one of them a pass thru battery.

Y'know what. I used the HELL out of that pass thru. Kept a plug in the car, plug on the computer, plug at work. I'd pull it off between the house and car and car and work, then plug right back in when I got to my next location. Started buying clearomizers by the truckload, then to cartomizers, then to carto-tanks. I must have owned a dozen pass thru batteries since the initial one.

Yes, variable voltage is nice, yes an upgrade later will cost more, but if you're looking for a good way to get into electronic cigarettes without spending a lot of money. A simple pass thru will work.

Most of the newer ego-style pass thrus are variable voltage to a limit. Normally low, medium, and high voltage with no ability to really tune it. But it gives some options.

So as you search for the perfect way to break into vaping, keep the often forgotten pass thru in mind. Could help get you where you want to be.
