Finally An Easy Button To Quit Smoking And Start Vaping! My Quit Diary.

There is an ocean of products out there. How do you know who to trust or where to even start. Let's face it we are the pioneers of an undiscovered country. There seems to be two choices: research research research or take the plunge and throw money at the problem until it goes away. If you are frugal like me then the latter is not an option. That is why I am posting this; to save you money in the war against your tobacco addiction.

But where do you start? It's all so confusing. I have always been from the school of thought that believes that a smart monkey doesn't let go of one branch until his hand is firmly planted on the next. I am here to give you that branch.

A little bit of research will reveal that most people think that the EGO style e-cigarette is a good place to start. Perhaps modding is in your future but let's face it you are not likely to go out, concept unproven, and build yourself a professional vaping mod like a Scubagen (Genesis tank Atomizer).

So where to begin? There are 10,001 EGO clones. The European company, Janty, created the original EGO and that cannot be easily ignored. Some say that they hit a little better than the clones. I am here to prove that although they are the original innovator that they are not the big kid on the block any more. Through months of research, while I remained a dedicated smoker sitting on the sidelines, I noticed something. The Janty EGO, although the creator, was expensive and stagnating. I for one didn't want to pay through the teeth for something less than perfect for starting my journey into vaping. I knew all to well what the alternative was; life in hell smoking til I died or got some life-threatening disease that was worse than death. I saw my Grandfather die of COPD and Emphysema and it was a fate worse than death indeed. He smoked Camel Non-Filters. 3 packs a day, in fact, until his 40s when he was diagnosed. He spend the next 20 years hunched over a stool with calloused elbows and slept on the floor. When he rarely left the house for family events he spent his time bent over like a defensive linesman wheezing. When he was 66 he went to the hospital and never came out. I got the call one day that he had died due to fluid buildup in his lungs and it devastated me. Here was a guy who fought in the Korean Conflict for our country, a Marine through and through, laid low by a stupid addiction. I promised my family I'd never be like him. I was wrong. I started smoking at 19. It was stupid. At first it was harmless... a few here a few there. Next thing I realized is that I got extra breaks from working if I took a smoke break. This is where the trouble began. All through college I sought jobs that allowed me to smoke while I worked. It was a recipe for disaster. Next thing you know, here I was, addicted like a complete dumba$$.

For years I told myself I would quit. I tried. I failed. I tried to cut back, switched to lights, tried crappy roll your own tobacco in an effort to hate it until I quit, and I failed.

I always told myself that in my 30's I would quit before I was too old and the damage was irreversible. Well, NOW IS MY TIME!

So, long story short, where do you begin in this vast sea of knowledge yet to be discovered? How can one easily begin their new journey without expending vast amounts of time or monetary resources to find out what they want to know. The answer is: interaction.

A great place to start is the KGO Starter Kit. Why? A simple review of this unit will reveal that it is superior among the proven EGO style e-cigarette clones. An ordinary cigarette-style e-cig will not likely get you to where you want to go. Unfortunate as that is it's time to grow up and get over it. Don't judge a book by its cover. Sure smoking cigarettes is more or less an acceptable vice, and looking like you are doing exactly that is more acceptable, but it's time to shatter the mold.

The KGO system comes with 2 1100mah (milli-amp hour) batteries. These will last the average vaper as much as 11 hours (although probably less in reality). The rule of thumb is that 1 mah = 1 hour. Most EGO style e-cigarettes come with 650mah batteries. This is not enough. Even through the course of a single day you will need to recharge batteries in order to get through. Assuming that the average person sleeps 8 hours a day that leaves 16 waking hours to contend with our stupid addiction to tobacco. The 1100mah batteries can do that! 2 x 650 are not likely to be able to do that. Go big or go home, so they say.

I am a YouTube master. I moonlight as an electronic music composer there (http://www..youtube.com/user/ShogaNinja) (vape to my music!) and it's my go-to place for information in this, The Information Age. Never before has it been easier to learn firsthand that which we need to know. I watched all the popular reviewers night and day for months. I had decided on the T-Rex EGO which, although it LOOKED cool, was inferior to the KGO. After receiving expert reviews, from very experienced veterans (such as GrimmGreen and QCAssociates among others), I decided to look into the KGO. I immediately found out that they stand out for one single reason. Their batteries are stronger than most EGO-style batteries. Under load from a single coil cartomizer they are able to maintain 4 volts. Under a dual cartomizer they are able to sustain a 3.8v output. Everything you will learn suggests that EGOs are 3.7 volt maximum Personal Vaporizers (PVs). This makes the KGO a 3.8-4 volt PV. I realized, finally, that this is a good place to start. Here's proof of the output of a KGO battery vs. an 18650 (which is a battery often used in much more expensive mods. Hint: The KGO wins!) : hoosierecigsupply.com 1100mAh eGo battery whips AW 18650 IMR - YouTube

So where do you get an SLB KGO without getting hosed? Well, GrimmGreen suggested Hoosier E Cig Supply and although Brent (the owner) is a decent guy he is often found without stock. His KGO starter kits come branded (in bright red letters) the name of the company Hoosierecigsupply. I find this feature superfluous and bothersome. I see enough advertisements in the span of a day and it's not like Hoosier created the KGO. Why do I need to see this crap every time I vape? So when I decided to take the plunge to quit smoking and start vaping (being satisfied that months of research were enough and that my choice was finally made) I was saddened to find that hoosierecigsupply only had PINK KGOs in stock. I quickly called Brent (whose number is on his site) and asked him when they would have more in stock. He seemed rather undecided and responded that it would be a few days. I calculated that into my shipping time, thought about smoking for a few more days and what that would cost me, and I said literally "Screw THAT!". I did a Google search. If anyone can help me it's Google right? There's a sea out there and all I have to do is fish! I quickly found another vendor: Dark City Vapor

At first, knowing what was at stake, I approached with caution. Here was a small, relatively unknown supplier in the e-cigarette world who was not a member of the BBB (Better Business Bureau). Would he take my money and laugh? Well a little bit of Google searching later revealed that he was an avid member of ECF and had started his business through his interactions here. Could he possibly screw me over considering that most of his customers came from here? I decided NO. That would be a death sentence to his business.

DarkCityVapor.com's KGO kits come with 5 Standard Resistance XL cartomizers. That means, although not the best vapor producers in the known universe, they are big enough to hold a decent amount of e-juice. Most KGOs come with a standard atomizer and 5 cartridges (which are nigh useless) prefilled with crap e-juice of various strengths. Here the deal was the same price but I got something I was going to have to buy anyway, cartos. Sure, there is the fact that DCV doesn't offer atomizers and that they are worth around 9 bucks for a pair of them. That's a problem! Or is it? On the order screen for the KGO you can add a second set of 5 cartomizers for 4 bucks. Not so bad now, I see. I need cartos! You get your choice of Boge or Smoktech cartos. Through my research I had learned that these are very popular, and often endorsed, cartomizers. I quickly chose the lowest resistance BOGE cartomizers because I had read that they required the least amount of mothering and were the most durable of the two brands. I had heard stories of people re-using BOGEs for 6 months. Now for 48 bucks I was getting something that I would have had to have paid 54 or more for elsewhere. This is starting to be the makings of a deal!

One of the other things that I realized I would have to do on my journey if I intended to vape on a budget is to make my own e-juice. Without an atomizer to drip test my mixes I would be forced to expend a cartomizer to what could be an awful awful flavor. I decided that this was a recipe for disaster. I ended up ordering a 306 Low Resistance Cartomizer with a drip tip in order to test my DIY (Do-It-Yourself) juice before I committed cartos to them. I had heard from GrimmGreen that this was his favorite atomizer that he used most often on his main PV the Silver Bullet.

Comments

(I hope this doesn't start to sound like an advertisement. I am in no way paid or affiliated by DCV - this is just my experience)
Even though I had all this research under my belt I realized that I STILL had questions. On the bottom of DarkCityVapor's web page was a little box that said something to the effect of "Questions? Chat now". I clicked it and there I was talking to Bill, the owner. As a newbie I had many more questions that I had previous conceived. He was there to answer every single one of them. As an avid member of this forum his experience speaks for itself. As it was, I got a call to go back to work and I ended up not having a chance to order my KGO. I didn't get back until 4 in the morning. I came back to order and I ended up having another question. I figured I was on my own but I looked down to the bottom right corner for help again and lo and behold THERE HE WAS! At 4 in the morning Bill was online and ready to answer all my questions faithfully. Not only did he do that he was also a bit of a small talker. I ended up talking to the guy for a long time. After he answered my questions I pulled the trigger and finally ordered my KGO starter kit. I have never been more pleased with the service that I got from DarkCityVapors. Bill goes above and beyond the call of duty. In this day in age that is a very refreshing feeling to know that someone experienced has got your back in a caveat emptor (let the buyer beware) world.

I think that for newbies who have questions that this is the best place to start. With a KGO from DCV. Later on you will have plenty of time to build yourself a 5v USB passthrough: VapeTalk - How to Make a 5V Passthrough for $4 - YouTube such as this one or build/buy yourself a genesis atomizer Scubagen. I realized that the 510 battery was useful even if you owned those things as either a backup or as a work PV. The Scubagen looks a little too outlandish to be using in all public situations and definitely too big to be carrying in my pocket at work. The KGO is the go-to-guy.

More DCV facts:

DCV's e-juice and e-cigarette supplies are the cheapest I have seen on the market. It's hand-mixed and, as far as I can tell, all-American. If you use the coupon code: "ECFDCV" (all caps) you will receive 5% off your order. If your order is $65 or more it will be shipped free of charge. Bill will get your order into the USPS system via Priority Mail by 2pm even on a Saturday. It will usually take 2-3 days to ship to most parts of the USA.
Bill is an avid member of ECF and as a former member he is easily able to answer all of your newbie questions and is less likely to rip you off as a small business proprietor. Good luck with dealing with the "other guys" who seem, more often than not, deadset on profit margins and exploitation of your addiction than, in earnest, trying to help you quit and find a new way of life. I give my two thumbs up to Bill and Dark City Vapors. I hope you, as a new vaper will take my advice and find yourself ordering a KGO from DCV like I did.

EDIT: due to recently released devices, I can still recommend a KGO from DarkCityVapor for those completely disinterested in variable voltage devices , or those looking for a nice backup that's small and portable, but for the price I now recommend an EGO C TWIST replacement batteries (in the 1000mah since the 650mah dies too fast) from AltSmoke.com | Personal Vaporizers | Electronic Cigarette | Ecigs | Your one stop shop! (who had them for the cheapest price at the time of this edit), even though it's larger than the 1100 mah KGO (it does outperform it - note that it did not exist when the blog was written) and the Vision Vivi Nova tank system (which also didn't exist) which is completely rebuildable and it's easy to do. You'll still need an ego charger and unfortunately Altsmoke's price on that is not great. You will want one that is a USB charger WITH a plug in wall adapter. DCV is still a good vendor though. Bill has the best customer service on the planet. There are many knockoffs that are cheaper than this price, and should you find one do be careful because knockoffs have inferior warranties. Note that the original EGO C Twist has the name (EGO C Twist) on the battery, written vertically and usually in white ink, and just above the bottom where you twist your voltage settings.

You can go to Vaping Estarra - YouTube to watch videos on how to rebuild a Vivi Nova. Also, feel free to comment and ask him questions as to which wire gauge, wicking material, or places to purchase them from. Put this all together with some videos that you can also watch on youtube how to DIY your own ejuice and you will be saving so much money vaping it's ridiculous how cheap it gets. I've got my current costs down to around 20 cents a day using Wizard Labs as a source of my chemicals. I get my VG from Walmart in the pharmacy section for about 3 dollars. It's sold as a skin softener and it's simply labeled "Glycerin". If you look at the label it's USP grade which means it's pure, and the stuff you want. Directly behind where I found that at my particular walmart I was able to purchase an oral syringe that came with a small 5ml measuring cup which I have also found useful for when bottles run low and you can't use the oral syringe to pull out what you need. I believe Cappella's is the best source of flavoring. Although not the cheapest, they are not as expensive as Flavourart which some consider the best, but boy do you pay for it! Capella's is in the middle. The Perfumer's Apprentice is cheapest but the success rate for good juice made with their flavors is around 25% or less for me.

I hope this helps you find your path.

T-minus 24-48hrs:
Still smoking analogs and still waiting for my KGO. I just want to VAPPPPPEEE. I want to quit smoking like yesterday. If all goes well I should get it tomorrow. If so that will be a 2 day shipping time which would be win. I can't wait. I'm getting anxious/excited like I'm going to Disneyland.

Day 1: Got my KGO today. It came fully charged. Everything in my order was correct. I got to vaping right away. I'm sitting in a cloud of vapor right now. It was everything I knew it would be; totally right on with my research. I haven't smoked all day. I will do a review on my eliquid later when I get more experience with it.

Day 1 (late): It sucks that I woke up with a mean cold today but maybe it was a boon too. I haven't smoked a cigarette at all today and I'm glad for it with this cold. Everything's fine. I can't believe it's this easy to quit smoking. I feel a little weird but it's all good. 24mg juice hits like a truck. The 18mg juice is more of a pacifier/constant vaping juice and doesn't give me quite the buzz. The 24mg is better for the hit it and quit it style of vaping. It took me a little while to get my cartos primed up and working well but now they are peaking on vapor production. My old lady says that it smells like butterscotch when I hit it and makes me vape in the den but she is really proud that I quit on day one. As long as she lets me vape in the house this is full of win.

Day 2: I still haven't smoked an analog since I got my KGO and I'm feeling better for it. I'm totally glad that my research has paid off.

I also have yet to kill a battery after two full days of using them (oscillating them to keep them evenly drained). I am not going to charge them til I kill one so I know just how long these 1100mah batteries last me. Including the juice that is still in my cartos (I keep them topped off every hour or so) I have used maybe 6-7 ml if even that. I would estimate that I have vaped maybe 4 ml so far.

Day 3: No analogs still. Cold is starting to clear up. The vapor production started to drop off so I broke down and charged my batteries. It only took a short period of time with the wall charger. I can tell that if I let them go they would last me for a few days probably, maybe even more if I switched them back and forth. There is no fear of getting through an entire day on one battery.

I would like to apologize, ShogaNinja. My original purpose for commenting on your blog was not intended as a mean personal attack on you. I’m sorry you feel I was being a “Troll”. As a noob myself, when I am seeking help or information from someone, I would like to know what their credentials are and why I should trust their information. Especially from someone like you who claims to have extensive knowledge and wants to be the “go to” guy to help educate others. I do not think this is unusual at all and you may find others will question your means of acquiring all your professed knowledge. You obviously have a strong passion for all topics eCig related. That is great and I am sure you will indeed help others find their way down the road to becoming analog free. This whole forum is made up of like-minded individuals.

Regarding my attempt to differentiate between “book smart” and “street smart” is something that I must not have explained well. A simple analogy would be: Who are you going to get the best help from if you want to learn how to bake a soufflé? Are you going to listen to a Master Chef, who has years of experience actually baking, or are you going to listen to the guy who has “read how to do it” from a cookbook, but has never *actually* baked anything, ever?
For me, I’m going with the Chef with the hands-on experience.

Knowledge is power, no doubt! You have set yourself up well regarding your efforts to learn everything that you have, so far, on the topic of eCigs and vaping. The time and effort invested in your quest for knowledge has no doubt put you ahead of those that will not seek the information themselves. Does this make you an expert? I still do not believe so. Should you share your real, hands-on, personal experiences and point people in the right direction so they may learn as well? Absolutely! I’m not saying to not help. Be passionate and help, but until you really have “extensive PERSONAL knowledge”, I wouldn’t be trying to appear like an eCig, Seasoned Vaping Veteran and that is exactly how you seem to want to be viewed.

There is a ton of good info on the web but unfortunately, there is also a bunch of misinformation regarding ANY subject you may research. If you believe everything you read and think the videos on YouTube are all excellent sources of true information, then you may find that your extensive education is seriously lacking.

I only have one question for you and I will leave you alone to further your mission: How can you possibly vouch for the veracity of any information you have learned solely by reading or watching videos on the internet and view yourself as “extremely knowledgeable” on a subject, without having any real life, hands on, “personally done it” experience?

Until you have actually done something yourself, the information that you have learned is still, in a way, theoretical. It takes actually applying the information learned that gives you the actual experience, aka, “street smarts” that I was referring to. I am confidant that you will no doubt be able to offer even better help and information when you have a few months of personal experience under your belt. As just another little side note, I have noticed since you have actually started vaping a few days ago, your comments on your own personal progress and observations have been appreciated by me and I have noticed that some things you thought you knew previously are sometimes not exactly the way you thought they were going to be. I feel relaying your own experiences are more helpful to noobs, such as myself, than simply relaying information acquired during research.

Keep up the good work. If not for the many, many people on this forum willing and excited to help others succeed at having a positive experience vaping, it would not be the great place that it is.

Once again, I do hope you accept my apologies. I did not intend to offend you or attack you and I was not trying to be a “troll”. I hope we can still be friends and view each other as individuals with different opinions on what qualifies someone as having “extensive knowledge”. That’s it. No harm, no foul! Although, I know you will probably delete this post off of your blog too I want you to know I sincerely wish you nothing but the best in all that you may pursue. Good luck! Peace! Jme

It's all good. I take it back. I just didn't want people getting negativity as a first look at what could save their lives. As a gift to you I will link you what my research has helped create besides this blog: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...k-starter-guide-i-put-together-friends-2.html

Also I would like to point out that due to this blog and that ^^^ posted guide that Dark City Vapor sold out of KGOs which means we are reaching people and putting them on the path to quitting. They're getting more next week though and I talked him into getting silver banded KGOs this time. Bill and I have become "friends" and I talk to him on his instant chat every couple days to check in. He's a really nice guy and as an ECF veteran he can answer any questions one might have about the KGO or vaping in general. We even got into heavy mod talk and DIY juice - the advanced class, if you will.

That said, my KGO really did help me quit instantly and it really is a nice piece of hardware especially for those on a budget. I've spent way too much money on tobacco and I'm tired of throwing my money away so I decided that I wanted to quit as cheaply and effectively as possible. The KGO is the fruit of that research.

Vape the good vape. :vapor:

Day 4:

Stupid cold is still here. What I did last night didn't help. I'm an idiot sometimes.

I got drunk last night (oops) and smoked half an analog not because I had to but because I wanted to, for science. I had a hard time finding my lighter in my pocket (which was automatic before). The marlboro black was gross. All I could taste was poisonous chemicals. I put it out half way. It was stupid too because I ended up feeling like I wanted to smoke again today for a second, but a few merciless vapes of my strongest juice (which hits so hard I cough) and I was fine. I also cross mixed one of my juices in a carto while I was drunk and I had to vape that out. It wasn't too bad though. Tobacco and Chocolate Peanut Butter.

I had a dream that I went to smoke my cigs (I have 4.5 left now from before I got the KGO) and in my dream they were all missing like half the tobacco that fell out because they have been rolling around in my pocket for the past few days, not getting smoked, so I was like screw it I can't smoke these. I'm not about to stuff the tobacco back in. Weird. A message perhaps?

Anyway back to Day 4, I had a brief hangup from bad decisions made while drunk last night but all is well. I'm still calling it a win. I got my Nic juice and PG and a syringe in the mail today and briefly considered extracting some flavors from tea or coffee around the house but I don't have any high proof vodka so I gave up. It would take too much PG (which is also an alcohol btw) but that could have been done in 20+ minutes. VG takes too long (3 days in a crockpot). My flavors should be coming tomorrow and I can just wait til then.

I estimate I have vaped about 8-9 mls so far which is far less than I thought I would so that's going to make my DIY supplies last for approximately 5-6 months before I have to resupply. If I can get my nicotine content down in that time it will last even longer. Come to find out nicotine solution lasts about a year, and PG lasts 2 years before they expire.

I used to have a rapid heartbeat when I smoked, especially when I went to bed (which would keep me up), but I noticed that it is all but gone now. I wanted my sinuses to improve too but there is no way of telling as long as I have this stupid cold. These were the two main reasons I wanted to quit. I also noticed that I have lost appetite since vaping and although I have no problems eating it's taking longer between meals and those meals have gotten smaller. Can't beat that. Regular quitting usually results in weight gain not weight loss (not that I have a lot to lose but I wasn't exactly looking forward to gaining weight).

See you tomorrow with my DIY experiment #1 results.

Day 5:

No analogs. I boiled my cartos last night because they started getting crappy and today after drying out all night they looked more or less dry so I juiced them up and the are even worse than before I vaped them. I need to examine better ways to clean these things because I think at worst I killed them, and at best I took them out of commission for many days while they completely dry out.

I got my DIY stuff. Mixed up a mix of 555 tobacco flavor with a little honey tobacco and when that tasted bad I added some cappuccino which didn't do much of anything. It was total fail. Not letting that get me down I mixed up some straight chocolate. It tastes like cocoa puffs cereal almost to the letter. It's ok. I just got done mixing up some Cappuccino with a tiny bit of vanilla and I'm letting it steep but the initial drop I put on my 306 atomizer tasted like vanilla which is only 15% of the flavor added. It might be fail too, not sure yet. I don't want to blow cartos on crappy fail juice so I'll let it steep overnight while I vape cocoa puffs and try it on the 306 again tomorrow. What I can say is that my juice is smoother than the stuff I initially ordered which is good. The mixing process takes 5-10 per flavor and it's not so easy with this tiny little syringe I got to pull the right amounts and the whole time doing so through tiny bottle openings. This is particularly scary when using 100mg nic juice which can really mess you up. Plus a spill of my nic juice could be devastating to clean up (it's a toxic biohazard) not to mention the fact that it's pretty expensive stuff. I liken the process at times to bomb defusing. So, just a word out for everyone from what we learned today. Tobacco flavors are fail. Coffee flavors either don't have much flavor at all or taste like burnt rubber. Chocolate is tasty. DIY is not as easy as it seems.

Oh well. I knew there'd be a learning curve and I'm happy to find out the hard and cheap way as opposed to paying through the teeth for professional flavors and finding out the easier way. I still didn't smoke so whatever happened it's still a win. I know that many juices are fail when you first mix them and they really do require at least a few days of steeping. The juices I ordered when I first started weren't all great but over the few days I've been vaping the problematic ones got a lot better. I don't know if it's because my cold cleared up or the steeping time but I am going to chalk it up to steeping. Here's hoping time will fix my initial fails. (crosses fingers)

Day 6:

Still smoke free. I let my DIY juice sit all night and the chocolate I made actually developed into an awesome vape. I've been vaping it all day today and I'd say it's my current all-day vape.

The cappuccino I haven't had a chance to give another try but it smells underwhelming and its so dark that I can tell it's gonna be a carto killer. I think I'll mix it with some of my chocolate just to use it up. The 555 blend's smell haunts my dreams (it smells more like demonic apples than tobacco lol). It's absolutely abhorrent and I am just going to put it in a lockbox somewhere and come back later. For now I just can't do it and that totally sucks because it's the one bottle of flavoring I decided to go big with and I totally regret that now. I am going to be making my own tinctures out of household things like teas and coffees out of alcohol and glycerin which is what these flavors I bought are anyway. Lesson learned. At least I got an all-day vape for now. I will be making some more flavors soon and I guess we will see what happens when that time comes.

Day 7 (really late):

Can't sleep. Still vaping the chocolate. It's completely clear so I haven't killed my carto as fast as I did with the first three. The thing that I don't understand is how 3 cartos died in like 3-4 days when I was sharing the vapes across the three yet here I am 3 days later on the same carto going strong with clear juice. I heard that darker juices kill cartos faster but this is ridiculous. Anyway, I mixed up 30ml of 24 mg flavorless ejuice and now all I have to do is make up 5ml batches of any flavor I want. I accidentally got a few drops of 100mg nicotine juice on my hand during the mixing process but nothing happened. I think those warning labels are for people who work with the juice all day. I still try to hold my breath or put my shirt over my face when I mix it and I do it in the garage in case there is a problem. I'd rather clean a toxic spill up out there than in my pristine home. Anyway, I totally recommend DIY juice but like I said before you might want to stay away from "tobacco" flavors because there really is no such thing as far as I can tell. I have heard many people say this but I just didn't listen.

One more thing. The juice that I got when I first started lasted a lot longer than my DIY juice for some reason. I find that weird. It's the same pg/vg mix and the same nicotine strength. I don't think I really vaped more.

Days 8-9:

Day 8: I had a really bad craving and I super vaped all night long. Well beyond sanity. I think I vaped like 5 ml yesterday (twice my daily intake). I don't know what the heck happened I really just wanted to get drunk but I didn't have anything to drink on. I had a really hard time going to sleep.

Day 9: Went to work, vaped some, came home, vaped some more. Forgot to eat, couldn't sleep. I decided to stay up all night. Had a nice conversation with Bill at DarkCityVapor for a couple hours. He's getting more KGOs in approximately 2 days. 30 black, 10 red, 10 chrome - all silver banded models (silver around the button and the bottom of the battery cap (mine are gold). I bought some liquor but I didn't drink any. Made some superior ejuice today, my new all-day vape. Peanut Butter flavor. YAY! Spent a lot of time writing a new song which I hope to release on YouTube in the next week. It's awesome.

Still up, haven't eaten in a long time, not hungry. I find vaping kills my appetite which can be a good thing. No problems vaping, though. I dripped a ml of my new juice through my 306 atomizer - quality vaping as I sit in a cloud of peanut butter. Technically now it's day 10 but I'll get to that later. I'll probably go to sleep in a few hours and get a couple hours of sleep so I can go to bed like normal tonight. Oh well. Sometimes you got to reboot. Still feeling the after effects on my sinuses with major runny nose issues especially when I go to bed but otherwise I'm more or less over that stupid cold from hell. For all I know that could be a symptom of quitting.

Last time I went to the dentist she told me that I had sloughing (or sluffing) on the roof of my mouth which was not necessarily bad but she said it was from smoking and that it can eventually lead to oral cancer. It feels like your palette is scaly and wanting to peel off. You may have never noticed it if you are (or were) a smoker but I've had it for a couple years now. I am pleased to report that my sloughing problem is completely gone now. That's one less thing to worry about. I'm also breathing better and my heart is not palpitating when I go to bed nearly as bad as it was so that has greatly improved as well. My throat has also improved as it was often somewhat sore. That's a lot of win right there. These were 4 good reasons why I quit smoking and I've already seen major improvement in this short period of time.

Day 10: Still smoke free.Tired as hell. Didn't have time to fool with my DIY experiments today. Oh well. I let my neighbors vape my e-cig and they coughed like girls. Noobs. Everyone I know is really excited for me that I quit smoking though and I never thought they would even notice or care but they do. Here I thought you guys were my only support base. :) ECA. Electronic Cigarettes Anonymous.

It's funny how many deny the power of E-Cigs without giving them a real chance (or even a second hit) and continue to smoke. I want to, but I know I can't save them all. I think Big Tobacco doesn't have much to worry about really. They'll always have customers. They lost a big one in me though so to that I say :p

Days 11-12:

Smooth sailing. My cartos are lasting longer now that I am making my own clear Chocolate and Peanut Butter juices. I think from now on I will do less frequent entries (like one a week) unless something special happens.

I was hanging around my smoking neighbor again and I was thinking about how stupid and smelly he is. Cigarettes reek. There is nothing cool about them any more. E-cigs are for classy people. Never feel embarrassed vaping. Thanks KGO!

Days 13-15

I crossed over my 2 week mark without smoking - my TwoWeekiversary I called it. I'm breathing way better - feeling great! All the vaping sickness period is gone (although I was sick before I started - I was getting headaches for a couple days there) and now it's just a matter of experimenting to find new things to stay interested. I tried to convince more people that vaping is better, maybe failed. Dicked around and made some more flavors from my DIY kit. I took all the tobacco flavors from The Perfumer's Apprentice and mixed them together. It wasn't great at all lol. I also made some Caramel (not bad) and tried Cappuccino this time in a higher percentage of flavor and added sweetener. It's not bad but it's so dark it's gonna be a total carto killer. I haven't really found any all day vapes past Chocolate and Peanut Butter, and when I mixed the two together it really didn't work out too well. Finding the ratio of flavor for that mix will take some doing. I could vape the caramel all day if I had to but it's not as good as my preferred ADV's (All Day Vapes). I find that after like 10 vapes the flavor really doesn't matter anyway which is why I wonder why all these people bother buying commercial e-juice. You're just throwing your money away for the most part. I appreciate a good juice too but the taste and effects are just so ephemeral. At the end of the day you have to ask yourself what got you here in the first place. The answer is, sucking on an ashtray. Cigarettes taste like sh^t. It didn't stop you from smoking them though did it? No. Okay then. I rest my case.

Now if they would only make a personal alcoholizer I could stop drinking on the weekends lol :) jk

Days 16-17:

Day 16 was uneventful. Mixed up some more juice and got my supply back up. I'm going through 30ml in a little over a week but I seem to be wasting quite a bit to leakage due to overfilling and pooling in my battery connector. That sucks but I have a rudimentary setup with my DIY bottles right now so that's the cause.

Day 17 (morning) I was walking the dog and looked up to the sky to see several bright flashes of lightning and then I started hearing what sounded like big raindrops hitting everywhere but I wasn't getting wet. We started to run (running and vaping for the win) and the next thing I know BAM. I got smoked right in the middle of my head by a 1 inch hailstone. My brain hurts. Good thing I was wearing a hoodie with the hood up. I can't imagine how I'd feel right now if I hadn't been. I'm ok though. I haven't seen hail since I was a kid. All I could think was HAHA I'm so glad I have a 2 car garage because all these people's cars are now screwed. The storm lasted about 10 minutes just beating the crap out of my awnings and then afterward I went out and collected the biggest hailstones and put them in my freezer for evidence. The ground was covered in them - from .25 inches to about an inch in diameter. I'm glad I ran, but I sure picked a bad time to walk the dog!

This year has been really bad due to climate change. Last year (you know the one that just ended a few months ago) was the wettest year on record in my hometown. Then this winter was the 5th least snowfall on record, and the 10th warmest on record. Something tells me you aren't supposed to break 3 records in rapid succession. I can't believe people don't believe in global warming. It's utterly ridiculous. Anyone who's been alive for 30 years or more should be able to tell the difference. At least if they live in areas that are most affected by it. Ok, I said some stuff. Now I'm going to go take some tylenol.
