Introductions and Why i vape

Hello dear readers. My name is Paul, and I am a former tobacco user. I started out on cheap cigars and the ripe old age of 17. Man I thought I was cool, little did I know that those cheap @$$ stogies would start me down a path that would later regret. At the age of 19 I started smoking regular cigarettes, Camel Menthol full flavored to be exact. I smoked those until around 21 when I decided I needed a change, so I switched to Skoal bandits. They were nice. No ash, no stink, only now I had to spit. I stayed with those until the price got too high for my habit and switched to long-cut Skoal, and stayed with that for about the next 8 years.
While working for a call center I decided that my habit was too expensive and that I hated having to schlep my ... down to the ground floor in whatever weather was happening to get my fix. So with the help of patches, gum, and sunflower seeds I quit. And I remained tobacco free for 2 whole years, until I started at another call center. This one dealt with general consumers rather than business clients. If any of you dear readers has worked in call center customer service then you know what a shock to my system this was. But I digress, after a particularly agonizing call where I was pushed to my limit; I broke down and bought a roll of dip. I justified it by thinking it was this or get fired for unloading on a customer. And so I became a tobacco user again.
A few years later after looking at what I was spending on dip and sodas/bottled drinks for spit bottles; I decided it was time to quit again. So I grabbed some gum and patches and gave them a rip. I lasted 26 hours before I gave up. Simply watching TV in my room, I found myself getting irritated for no reason. The patch itched like crazy, which it hadn’t before. The gum was changed as well. Gone were the hard, square, clinical feeling pieces; now they were like regular sugarless gum. I’ll let you in on a little secret, sorbitol, the main sweetener in said gums is a powerful laxative, and I chewed about 30 pieces that day. So with that ugly experience I was back to the dip.
About a year later, my nephew was born, and I had to move. I had been living with my brother after he lost his job to help out with bills and such. Well, after moving into my new place I decided to try something else to quit my dip. See, my brother had been vaping for roughly 2 years at that time, and had pretty much quit smoking altogether. And for the most part it smelled ok, I tried his and about lost a lung from the coughing, but I liked the tingle in my throat and it tasted pretty good.
So I called up my brother and said “we’re going to the vape shop tomorrow and I’m quitting dip!” The next day I picked up my first kit, an Ego-C and 3 bottles of juice. It took a little bit of fiddling to get it where I liked it, but it worked. As I have rambled a bit here, I’m going to break this into a few parts, and will expound on my experiences in a little more detail in the next few installments.
And so for now dear reader good day and good vape.
