I am brand new—and not just at vaping (been at it for about 6 weeks now), but at forums, too. I’ve never really felt compelled to join one until now, but I’ve really gotta talk to you all.

I’ve been a smoker for 20+ years (holy crap that’s scary to say), and I don’t know about you guys, but I’ve never noticed any sort of smokers’ “community.” Aside from nodding at each other outside restaurants and airports, there wasn’t a whole lot of camaraderie. It changed a little in recent years, when the bans and tax hikes started, because we could grumble about something together while standing 10 feet apart in our smoking spots, but aside from that we had nearly nothing in common.

When I discovered this forum, I found something that I’ve never seen before: a community of smokers! Unbelievable. And absolutely everyone here is so generous, welcoming, and kind-hearted, and full of brilliant advice and infinite patience. I can only imagine how awesome it feels to be able to encourage people toward your new habit and know it can only do them a world of good.

When one of my coworkers told me about PVs (I didn’t even know they existed), I naturally went online to check it out, and found ECF. And I am so, so grateful. It was you all who helped me choose what to buy and from whom (huge thanks for steering me toward Electro-Nic-Stix), and you all who taught me how to clean and fill (legendary status to Taryn!). I learn tons of useful information from you every day, and all without feeling like a complete tool because of everyone’s genuine kindness in helping all us noobs along.

So if no one’s said it to everyone at ECF in a while, THANK YOU. I hope the community continues to grow and encourage ex-analog smokers to make the switch, and to band together to protect our rights. You guys are the bomb.
