Yeah... for those watching at home... this isn't an approved work-around... if it's working for him, fine... but that 4K ohms he read is at room temp... when it heats up that can drop dramatically.

I knew it was just a matter of time until it was suggested.

The result here is caused by opening up the wick hole... increasing flow.

There are better ways to increase flow, and it would be far better to develop those skills than to punt like this.

This work-around he has mentioned has been done by several folks in mesh/coil land, and it almost always results in a far less stable, and far less predictable set of results. Yes... it produces vapor... but there the majority of the owners of the Zenesis PV have been able to produce COPIOUS amounts of vapor without resorting to this short cut that almost always leads to harsh and unpredictable performance, in my own experience.

Once again... This is NOT an approved work-around, and you do it at your own risk if you choose to do so.

The insulator is a good thing and does indeed help to produce consistent results with a Genisis atomizer. The larger wick diameter does help produce more vapor, but is really not needed as a small wick can also produce tons of vapor.

The major things in my experience, to make a Genisis perform well (this includes the Zenisis) are as follows.

1. Keep the top and bottom of the wick hole open
2. Do not let the wick touch the bottom of the tank
3. Do not kink the wick as it will definitely impede juice flow
4. Completely oxidize the wick top to bottom
5. The wick should fit snug, not tight in the wick hole
6. Correct ALL shorts before vaping. Take your time and do this right becuase it is one of the most important factors to getting good flavor.
7. Glowing leads are not a huge problem if there are no shorts and they are just glowing because the cap is off so there is not enough airflow to keep them cool while you are looking at it
8. The position of the air inlet hole is CRITICAL. It has a very big effect on vapor production, TH and overall taste. Always start with the hole directly in front of the wick and adjust very slowly from there if you need more TH
9. It seems trivial to boil the mesh if you are heating it with a torch but trust me on this. Boiling is an important step in mesh preparation. It removes manufacturing debris and oil and greatly reduces the metallic taste some people experience when breaking in a new wick.
10. Take your time and do all of this properly. This will ensure that you have a pleasant vaping experience from your Genisis mod. I have many of them and these tips apply to each and every one of them.

This is not a just an expansion of Zen~'s post more than a reply, sorry it was so long :)

Hope this helps any of you out there having issues.

Happy modding guys and gals and Happy World vaping Day!! ;)
