It's my birthday, big deal....

It's really just another day, and I'm a year older. How old? I'm certainly not telling here. I got up, made coffee, started to vape and that wasn't going well, so I tried all six coils I had for my Kanger Protank, none of which were satisfactory. Crap.

I re-coiled all of them, 3mm wick, 4 wraps with 32 ga. kanthal, and I'm good for the day. Coils do not seem to last me very long, and I'm sure it's because I'm a flaming chain vaper who never stops vaping unless something demands I use my hands for it, like typing this.

Making up those coils this morning was like rolling my own cigs the way I used to do years ago before the government taxed the living snot out of the stuff for that. It was my morning ritual making my cigs, and now I make my coils instead, which is far healthier and more rewarding. I suppose I should be trying to burn the gunk off them and get that right, but yesterday I tried that, and ended up with burnt taste coming through. Yuck! So this morning I just remade all the coils.

Since I started vaping I've become a total geek about it, and far more immersed and involved in it than I ever could have been in just smoking cigarettes, because there's a lot more too it, and it's far more enjoyable, which is why there's a whole subculture grown up around it, and a huge and growing industry.

It's that subculture I'm most interested in lately, and I really want to go to a vape meet. I have very little social life, and meeting other vapers could only improve my social life, which has been .... since I moved here to Naples. This town is socially organized into cliques. Generally, if people don't already know you they don't want to. It's not a friendly town at all.

I went over to IIWII last night for a beer, or two, and the owner's wife Tamara talked to me, telling me about her e-cig and how she's started vaping. She showed me her rig, and it's almost the same as my out and about rig, a Kanger Protank, with a Vision spinner battery. She has the 1100 MaH though, and I have the 1300.

Well I've met another vaper, which is great. I told her about rebuilding her coils, telling her never throw them out when they don't work anymore, how to re-coil them, and burn them off when they get all gunked up with burnt juice. I doubt she will remember all I told her, but she will certainly be asking me about it later.

Okay, well I've been spending a lot on vaping, more than I should probably, but not as much as I could have. I've moved toward DIY on my stuff, redo my own coils instead of paying $15 for a 5 pack at Vape King down the road, and I have most of the stuff to make my own juice now, I just need nicotine for it, and I'm giving that some thought.

I now have two 1100 MaH batteries, one being a passthrough, three clearo's, a Kanger Protank, a Vision 1300 MaH spinner battery, and six coil heads for the Protank. I also got the very spiffy little ohms tester that was out of stock everywhere on the web, enough 32 ga. kanthal for a while, and some 3mm braided Ekowool wick, which I'm going to have to boil today to get the ....ty taste out of it.

It was supposed to be made in Russia, but is prolly really made by the yellow hoard of counterfeiters over there in China, who copy everything on earth that sells at all and palm it off on us as the real thing. Bunch of .......s over there for sure. Maybe I should try to get it straight from Russia, if that can be done.

Stuff that's on the way to me includes my Vamo, which I'm most anxious to get, flavors from Mt. Baker, 100 ft of 32 ga. kanthal wire, 20 ft. of 3mm wick, and a second green 1300 MaH Vision spinner. I really like that battery and really wanted a second one. It really looks great with the Kanger Protank on it.

I still need to order the batteries and charger for the Vamo, but I might wait a week to do that. I've spent a lot already. One thing I've learned for sure is not to go to the B&M's for anything I don't need right now. Buying it online is far cheaper, even if it does take time to get here. Vape King charged me $4 for a stinking foot of 32 ga. nichrome wire, they didn't even have kanthal, and I got 100 ft. of it this morning for $5.10! Wow! Vape King is the rip-off king when it comes to things like that! They also screwed me for wick, which was also $4 a foot.

I've also learned not to listen to most of the bull.... the B&M's tell me. They usually have an agenda running when they preach their .... to you, like the young punk at Royal Vapors down here who told me my Vision spinner wasn't safe to use with my Kanger Protank and might just blow up in my face. Yeah, right dude, I'm not buying a mod from you!
