Drilling your block

It has been my casual observation since I started vaping that not everyone goes the same way with it. Some just get some little stick of an ecig, often insisting that it actually look like a real cigarette, intending with this to substitute that for the real thing, and thus finally quit the smelly, inconvenient, expensive, and frowned upon analogs.

They stick to their stick, for a while, then go back to tobacco because their stick is just not the same as that.

Others, as we here on the forums know, go quite a different route with it, that being the vape nerd route. They end up with a growing array of hardware, which at an early point, requires a means of organizing or it's all over the place and cluttering up their desk, or it's in little ziplock bags in a drawer, or a cigar box or even several of them. At this point you are a vape geek, and might not even realize it yet, but have already been sucked unawares into the vaping subculture, from which there is no escape.

Allow me to point out a clear sign that you have become a vaping geek. It's the point at which you drill your block. You block is a piece of wood that will hold your stick batteries, clearo's, mod batteries, and coil heads, among other vaping hardware items. It might just be a piece of 2x4 or 2x6, or it could be a nice piece of oak, or maple, or butcher block even.

If you thought you were done spending money on vaping gear, and you have already drilled your block, you are only fooling yourself. You are doomed! Well perhaps not doomed as such, but there's no way out anymore. Point of no return my geeky friend, you can't turn back now and it's just not in your nature anyway.

You have not drilled your last block either, there will be others, bigger ones that hold more stuff, until you end up with shelves full of them, then start making cabinets and display cases for your vast array of vaping gear, that eventually requires that you either sacrifice a room of your house to it or build on an addition. Some have opted for storage lockers I'm sure. If you doubt me just look here:

Bill is the Gandalf of vaping and I'm pretty sure he has a storage locker full of this stuff, some of it capable of producing tornadic supercells. As you can see he's drilled his block long ago and progressed to some pretty awesome examples of them. If you have even drilled your first piece of 2x4 and stuck your things in it, this is where you are headed kids. Hope you can be at peace with that, and have the budget for it.
