A place I'm going to keep updated with builds I'm mucking around with so people can replicate (or be horrified) by what I've gone and done now.
So yesterday I couldn't resist any longer and despite not having the preferred materials went ahead with a build.
Very simple design but works extremely well considering the plastic that covers the copper strip you touch is a bit of the plastic bag the USB cable came in.
The PT has a 3m cable and is direct no battery so powered hub/mains adapter only but the button is fantastic.
You only need to put your finger on the switch and it
So here I am again after a bit of absence from my blog.
I have had a few medical issues but have also been busy looking at parts and deciding what to do next.
I was going to make a genesis style tankomizer, but as yet don't have the materials I need to make a mini lathe at home for working some parts.
So instead I have been looking at parts for a range of box mods in various layouts.
I like the size of my original mod which I am calling Monster Mod, this
Well this week I looked at the results of the little market research I did about my first mod.
With this information I dismantled my mod and rebuilt it closer to the majority ideas that came from the feedback as much as I could.
The battery connector is now central on the top, the led is now blue and on the button face, the on/off switch has been moved to a recessed section on one side and finally the charger circuit is in the same place but now connects to the world via
The next box will probably take a while as I want to be very careful at refining the build and making any improvement I want.
Having said that, it shouldn't be an age away, I don't have too many issues to iron out and then I may make a few to sell to people - but working out cost is another issue as I don't want to charge a fortune, but again I don't want my time to be free.
Ah ! to be a new modder with ideas and time.
I found other nice boxes I could work with too,
After the first build I have been thinking about the build, what I did and what could be done better - it was my first and I learned a great deal.
Firstly, I now know some of the components need to be fixed in place in the box before soldering any wires to them because with wires attached, things get very fiddly in the small space.
The full sized male USB the charge circuit comes with makes it very annoying to place in the box and means a large cutout it needed - the part
