Random Ranting

Okay, just be forewarned, this post will be a straight-up rant...

I have mixed feelings on the latest developments with the FDA and the e-cig companies they sent letters to. One one hand, I agree that these companies need to be playing nice in the sandbox and stop making claims about their products as a smoking cessation product. Perhaps it is true that many of us stopped "smoking analogs" when we started vaping, but it is an alternative and not a "treatment" or a "cure". If I had no access to my PV, I would be right at the gas station buying smokes.

I am a nicotine addict and have zero issue with that - I don't see it as an illness that needs to be treated. Honestly, as someone that has battled and been treated for ADD and anxiety for my entire life, the benefits of nicotine use outweigh the limited risks for me. I am sick and :censored: tired of the "quit or die" mentality with regard to nicotine use. Nicotine is legal, I like using nicotine, but I don't like the 4,000 chemicals in cigarette smoke.

I am a 34 year old adult. I have done research to make an informed decision to use the personal vaporizer as my preferred method of using nicotine. FDA - Leave me and my PV alone. You can have it when you shoot me dead and pry it from my hand. You don't need to protect me from e-cigs, you need to protect me from the dangerous and deadly drugs your organization has deemed "safe" for me to consume (Chantix, Avandia, Accutane, etc.), and keep tainted foods off my table - That is your job. Stay out of bed with the tobacco companies and the drug companies. We aren't stupid, we're all on to you and are watching...

Anyway, adding questionable substances to e-juice is just irresponsible in my opinion, and in that regard, I agree that the FDA and consumers should be concerned. I am sure many vapers would agree that we need to know what is in our e-juice, so ingredient labels are probably a very good idea, as are child-resistant packaging and stringent Quality Controls within e-juice companies. Why give the FDA ammo against you? Take a proactive stance before they bully you out of business. Trust me, none of us want that to happen.

Okay, last rant... I was shocked to find out that the CASAA had received LESS than $75 in donations over the entire summer. After sending a personal donation (the first of many more I am going to send), I stopped to think about how ashamed I was of myself for spending ridiculous amounts of money on vaping supplies every month and giving nothing to an organization that exists to help us.

We ALL need to get over to their site now and donate whatever we can! Even if that means one less bottle of juice this week... I read so many posts where people are pissing and moaning about the FDA, state bans, no one cares, etc., but if we aren't willing to fight for ourselves, who is going to? I just hope some of our suppliers will also donate.

Vape on everyone!
