Hey, just wanted to add my two cents. I also bought from Blu and was frustrated after the extraordinarily long wait. When I started mine up the first time I had the same experience, first hit was great, next one sucked. I'm convinced that it is due to the shoddy cart design. I noticed that if I left the cig alone for a couple minutes between puffs I could still get decent vapor, but still not good. The cart is simply too small and doesn't wick well at all.

My resolve to this problem was to try dripping/dipping. I got some juice from Johnson Creek and started just dripping (2-3 drops directly on atty is enough) and using an empty mouthpiece. (just push the cart out with a paperclip, or use one of the already empty ones) The result was epic! With the Tennesee Cured 24mg juice from JC I got amazing vapor and a great throat hit.

I know its not ideal because its not as convenient as carts would be, but at least its not a waste of money. I have a couple other PV's now (pipe, 801, 901) but I still use the blu periodically, especially if I'm just trying new flavors.

If you are worried about wasting the carts (as I was), I've found that you can extract the juice by pulling the wet stuffing out and squeezing the juice out with a syringe. Just take all the stuffings out and do one flavor at a time. For example, put all the CherryCrush stuffing's into a syringe and squeeze all the juice into a bottle and you can use it for dripping. You can taste it more this way too!

    Hope that helped...

all you have to do is pop a cartridge on twist it a few times take it off and that aluminum foil stuff will be on the atomizer take it off and get rid of it pop the cart back on and warm up the atomizer and it works fine. three slow drags on the first try warms it up pretty good

what bowchicachica said. It helps alot out of the box. Also, when you do get around to getting your own juice, refill your carts using the lipton teabag method, works WONDERS! Or you could simply hold the blucig horizontally (blu uses an automatic battery, simply dripping traditionally may potentially kill your battery), let the juice bead from the bottle and touch the atomizer, repeat 2 or 3 times and you're good money. I have a blu and absolutely love it now using those methods. Despite the naysayers and the bad press, the blu is NOT a horrible product. I do agree that the stock cartridges are hit and miss, once you try these methods your opinion on the blu will change, as mine did.

For someone trying to closely replicate analog smoking, Blu works great. But I had the exact same problem.. the constant failures after one good puff. To make things worse, I initially liked it so much I was in the throes of quitting analogs when it started failing.

To keep from going back to analogs I ordered another model e-cig, a 401, and that did the trick. Later I switched to a 510 and am a happy old gal now.

I still have a stash of Blu effluvia, but between the 510 and 401 I feel no need to try it again. If I did, however, I would dip the atomizer rather than refill those tiny carts. But, most e-cig beginners seem to want pre-filled carts and a size most like an analog. I felt that way in the beginning, too.

Pity, the PCC and packaging of Blu is really nice and the tiny size is great for someone who wants that analog feel to their e-cig. But their horrid customer service and snail-like shipping was all it took for me to try other models.

Based on my own experience, I suggest dipping or switching to another model. Your mileage may vary.

Just remember that unless you're ordering Johnson Creek juice or a mod, you can get it directly from a China supplier for probably 20-40% of what US middlemen try to charge you.

How are two batts, two attys, a pcc, and 25 carts to start over priced for $59.95? I've never had a problem with my Blu. Customer service is bad, but thats where volcanocigs comes in!!

One thing that I just found out about blu carts is that the inner juice holders arent the same sizes. I got johnson creek juice and have started dripping at home, but still using carts on the go and at work. One thing that actually blu customer service told me to do is to "pack" the blu cig lightly with the LED side down. It helps the atomizer wick.

On a side note, has anyone had the blue foam work with the blu? I tried tonight with no success, just eventually a mouth full of ejuice...yuk! Thanks!

I plan on trying a blue foam mod once my juice comes in the mail. Been thinking of the dart version but i dont think the inner cart is big enough to need the capilary action of the straw, maybe just a plug. Which method did you try cappy?

Um I dont know all the technical terms, but i just tried to replace the poly fiber stuff with the foam and it didnt work. I might be over filling or using too big of a piece of blue foam, but it didnt work. I'm still dripping for the most part and praying i dont fry an atty doing it, but it's the only way I'm still avoiding smoking analog....for the most part. I enjoy dripping cuz it give consistent hits which each drip equals about 10-12 drags...works great when having conversation in the smoke pit at work Bosses wont let me vape indoors...lol!

I just did the blue foam mod to my Blu. Make sure none sticks out over the cartridge. Is working like a charm for mine! The foam seems to make it hold more too. I was using the tea bag mod and could only refill the cart with 4-5 drops. Now I can get about 8 in there. I fill mine to just below the rim. The blue foam has also greatly reduced getting the juice in my mouth. Blech!
