    Default Time for a boycott

As you may know, thanks to Philip Morris and their wonderful tobacco bill, and in conjunction with the Tobacco Free Suckers (kids), they are leading the way to create a Tobacco Free society at the expense and sacrifice of millions of American smokers. Their bill, the Marlboro Monopoly Act, empowers the FDA to control the content of cigarettes, reduce nicotine, and ban far safer methods of nicotine delivery.

Well, as it turns out, Philip Morris is known as Altira Group, Inc, which is owner of Kraft products. As a "thank you" to PM giving itself a wonderful spot in the tobacco industry, and will be responsible for millions of deaths, I suggest we, as concerned ex smokers, not only boycott your killer tobacco products, but also the following Kraft brand products as well:

The boycott also includes products made by GENERAL FOODS and NABISCO, also aquired by those murders of Altira.

The only thing that will kill me is the fact that I like A1 Steak Sauce and Tomato and Basil Wheat Thins. But I can live without them. I for one will be looking at the label going forward and if I see anything even remotely Kraft like, back on the shelf it goes.

If they don't get ya with the tobacco, they get you with the junk foods.

I never buy brand names anyways. I always get the store brands. Cheaper and sometimes the quality is better. I usually get the Stop and Shop brand steak sauce, as an example, because it's so much better and cheaper.

We have some store brand down here, but don't know who makes them. May want to check who owns the off brand stuff.

I find that some off brand stuff is just as good as the Branded stuff. I never see any reason to pay more for the same or better quality just for a brand name.

I better not ever forget my lunch for work again. I might faint trying to find something in the corporate a$$ convenience store I work for. I can see it now... "Hey boss lady! It's against *hic* my religion *hic* to eat any of this crap... ugh... So I drank one of the convenient 30 packs of beer we carry! ...umm... Sorry and stuff."

I don't think I would have much of an impact on a boycott. The only item in that list that I purchase regularly is Claussen Pickles. I might have bought Calumet Baking Powder at one time, but as memory serves, I'm more of a "Clabber Girl" girl.

Wow, Altria, et al... sure manufactures a lot of cr@ppy food... and the things that they do with "cheese" should be outlawed.

I actually googled "philip morris brands" the day that bill was passed in the senate and thought maybe there was a mistake when I saw all the food products! Now I know it's right, there won't be any of their products in my cart tomorrow when I go shopping.

Glad only Starbucks grocery store items are on the list...I'm a major Starbucks freak and only get my coffee at a Starbucks store itself. There's nothing on that list that can't be replaced by another brand or product, so it won't be a problem here to avoid all PM products. The hubby may be a little upset over the Cheese Nips though

Wow that is some serious boycotting if done! There is a serious power house going on there. Everyone needs to go organic, and that would be a good thing to reduce the obesity epidemic.
