Hey, folks! Let's get it together on this stuff...

See, I look at political pundits like other people look at rock bands... that's essentially what they are... so someone telling me that Michael Moore is a bad choice is like someone telling me Led Zeppelin sucks cuz they don't like they're music... it's totally subjective...

If you want to win the war against vaping, you must involve EVERYBODY! But like a good PR hack, you must always judge who you're audience is... I bet if you put your minds to it, you could find an angle for the selling it to the liberals... and although I do love Michael Moore (and Bill Maher, PJ O'Rourke, etc.), I'm having an easier time couching things for the right-wing... I also happen to love Glenn Beck, Jerry Doyle and Rush Limbaugh, so I guess my schizophrenic politics allow me to think this way...

My point is this... put aside the petty bickering about politics and think on the macro level... the best way to win this war may just be to simply get EVERYONE on our side!

    Make sense?

    Yeah, that makes total sense!

Can you suggest a good way to deal with folks that seem to always just take the other side on a new issue presented to them no matter what? I have seen this many times and it absolutely mystifies me with such a no-brainer case with the electronic cigarettes.

Three most common negative (anti-ecig) reactions I see when a person genuinely is learning about them for the first time and has been briefed on the facts (i.e. yes it can have nicotine, different flavors, health implications etc.):

    1. fear of the unknown: There's no way to know what's in that thing." (made even worse when they find out most ecigs are made in china)
    2. If they aren't FDA approved then it can't be good
    3. More kids are likely to start smoking because of ecigs

Granted most of these people are not smokers (because most people don't smoke) but I am convinced that some people are just negative and / or don't like change.

I have actually had success with reverse psychology (don't think the other person knew I was actually being sarcastic), but just feel that's dishonest.
