    Default Let's organize!

It'd be nice to see if we can organize through the GROUPS section to be able to address issues on a grass-roots level. First, people need to help. We'd need group leaders to volunteer for activating and managing groups. All are encouraged to join the group respective to their cities. Group leader's will be expected to eventually post contacts to leaders in the government, media and submitting summaries of events and local concerns to ECF. ECF can utilize the location we enter in our member profiles to disseminate information from each group accordingly. Hopefully they could do the necessary coding. I think I'll send a link to one of this sites techies to get some thoughts or suggestions. Members who aren't active in groups will still get informed directly from their home page instead of digging through threads and alerts for it. Group leaders would also need engage members of their groups to discuss how to engage the public in a way that would be effective to their locale. Like having a few members gather at a local bar, VFW or Moose Lodge on a busy night to intentionally expose people and enlighten the curious. Or, seeing if any venue would let you occasionally set up a table of literature or a selection of products,a builders sessions or juice maker competitions. Also, weather permitting, having picnics and gatherings in busy parks or other high visibility public spaces. I'm just providing examples right now because it's possible some of these ideas and decisions could fall under the Group Leader's purview once more details are established.

I hope it's ok that this thread be used to brainstorm on the topic. We need to establish an organizational structure. My approach is to avoid micro-management and across the board strategies that may work in one locale but not so much in another. I'd rather have people that post here have an earnest intent to participate constructively. If you do post "Why this won't work, or "this idea is bad because" please also try to consider and post a solution to the issue that you believe is a hindrance. Thank you!

Currently CASAA organise US consumer advocacy and legislation calls to action, and ECF provide online resources for regional members. I don't think either can do much more than they are doing, mainly due to lack of resources. To do more needs staff and there is no funding on that scale. Only the commercial rivals of ecigs have the funding for this sort of initiative (and of course they don't need it, as they have no community backing).

A new consumer action group with its own website and specialist software sounds like a good idea. You could do this by customising an existing CMS or coding something from the ground up. It would be much easier to work with an existing setup, and you could do it for example with Joomla CMS using the Community Builder plugin.

At ECF we are stretched to the limit and can't do any more.

I just thought that if some of us spent the time and effort into using this forum as a resource that we put into arguing and drama there's not much CASAA or ECF would have to do. Keep updated literature and printable materials and update some code to link updates from groups to the profiles of those who've listed their location to be in the effected area.

    I agree Jay-dub.

I wish there was a site loaded with pictures that show at a glance the gist of the thousands of words. ( legislature, city council, etc, can't seem to read anything that's not printed on money)
    For instance:
Side x side pics. 1st pic shows the 4000 variables in a cig. The 2nd pic shows the 4 or 5 variables in an eCig. Then on down the "a picture is with a thousand words" list.
Side stream smoke from cig vs no side stream anything from eCig.
Hot burning fire vs cold LED light
Exhale from avg non-smoker (see dr. Nitzkin Oregon letter), exhale from smoker (from reputable science) & exhale from Vaper (see Dr. Nitzkin letter. The vapor exhaled has less ingredients than the avg non smoker raised in a monastery!)
Chantix side effects (rage, suicide) vs eCig side effects (happy face)
Full vapor exhale vs gentle vs stealth. (Even here, at ECF, are idiots who don't know the difference and who promote they can smell & see and whatever lol).
Benefits of zero nicotine (huh? I forget). Vs benefits of nicotine (memory, focus, cognitive skills enhancement. Relieves Alzheimer's, restores damaged neurological cells, etc)
    Smoking vs vaping.
poverty vs mom & pop micro businesses.
Full nicotine loaded real cig vs zero nicotine pens for the curious George.
Full nicotine boosted nicotine, tar, toxins vs simple pure non boosted nicotine without tar, toxins etc...
Poverty making taxes vs free market

Money hungry political leaders drooling over the dying masses of cigarette smokers.

Similar. I wish the eCig in the photog was in your face noticeable though. Or, more clear, in seperate boxes, the difference between know ailments with smoking and know benefits with vaping. But, then we'd have to pay a trillion dollars to FDA for the right to promote that. But, surely, there's a work around, by us consumers who are not industry related.
