Default Folks I'm afraid we're going to lose this war if we don't step up our game

We've facing a well organized industry and significant and powerful lobbist power. Our letters and demonstration is like fighting the army with water pistols. It doesn't hurt but we're overpowered.

What's very unfortunate is that Joe public does not really understand the issues and how e-cig can - at a practical level - save millions of life in North America. They really only hear one side full of rethoric and misinformation.

I am afraid that if we don't step up our game very soon we're going to continue being associated with the cigarette industry in the public mindset, facilitation the passing of these legislations. It will be too late and these legistations will NEVER be undone and as a perserve collateral impact leave millions of North American addicted to nicotine stuck with continuing the habbit that will most likley kill them eventally.

Here's what I propose if we're serious about having a decent chance of stopping this nonsense: If most e-cig users would chip in let's say $10 (50K *$10=500K, and the industry chips in as well) we could get ourselves some top rated lawyers, doctors and PR/Lobbist to get our world out now and the facts considered before it's too late.

    Any takers?

    JM, the realist.

We need one of those "A life is a terrible thing to waste" commercials.

I'd have thought the manufactures might have thrown some weight into the ring, they've got allot of skin in the game.

    JM1010....Great idea.

Everyone will be able to make donations within the next week or two that will be used for TANGIBLE causes. Meaning, if you make a donation, you will be able to see where the money is actually going and choose what it will be spent on. I might be a little presumptuous in posting this, since I'm not at full liberty to say anything more just yet, but wanted to chime in before this thread got more posts on it. Everyone, be on the lookout for some BIG news in the next week or so. This fight isn't as much of a lost cause as some might think...but we will need all the support we can get.

I believe if CASAA had this kind of funding there would be a lot they could do.

I thought about going straight to the federal level.

That's why the monoxide analogs are legal and protected, because at the federal level they became protected. Here is what I suggested in this post about stepping up the defense, quit wasting time, and going straight to the federal level:

I think we need to go straight to the public, as lobbying the FDA, state elected officials, and/or hostile groups like the ALA will likely yield meager results at best. I say take out a full page ad in the New York Times. This undoubtedly costs big $$. Who do I donate to? CASAA?

I'd like to see our beloved e-Cig forum have a DONATE link that goes to CASAA. I trust their board to make the right kind of advertising/campaigning ideas.

Set it up, lets give them a budget to work with!
