Hi You fill
..my juice from US disappeared off the planet May 10th and got a letter from HC refusing it only 3months later..Aug.15 and it finally reappeared at the doorstep of the sender last week! So it can take a while to be contacted if its not really lost!
Glad you're getting it replaced in the meanwhile!!

I ordered from Ruyandirect (now heaven gifts). STILL WAITING with no HCC letter showing up! At this point, I'm pretty sure it's refused but I just want to see that letter and see what I can do.
Damn!

There really shouldn't be a problem ordering 0 nic liquid from outside Canada, correct? My only concern is that customs may not know the difference between nic and non-nic. There are some cigar juices I'd love to try.

As long as the labels don't say nic or similar should be ok.
I rec'd just flavorings from the US which happened to somehow still have labels saying contains "nicotine" and that was refused right away and sent back to vendor.

The problem is going to be how do they know it doesn't have nic in it? Heck just label nic e-juice as no nic.
Being the government there is going to be some regulation because it doesn't come with form 37474-33GH declaring its chemical composition with an analysis from a 49393872 ISO approved lab based on 3 years of research, produced by at company registered under the Food Drug and Lost Kittens ACT of 1812 then its at customs discression to let it in.
Have fun!!

Haha! Very funny, props.
You raise a good point about dishonest labeling - extremely frustrating. I guess the customs people could always test vape the e-liquid first.

Government answer to importing e-products...
Dear XXXXXX:
Please find a response to your email dated September 15, 2009 on importing
E-cigarettes .
Health Canada has recently classified electronic smoking products
delivering nicotine as New Drugs under Division 8, Part C of the Food and
Drug Regulations. In addition, the delivery system within an electronic
smoking kit that contains nicotine must meet the requirements of the
Medical Devices Regulations. As such, these products require market
authorization (Drug Identification Number, device licence) prior to being
imported, advertised or sold in Canada. In addition, establishments
importing, distributing or manufacturing these products require
Establishment Licenses (EL) for drugs and medical devices. Please see link
attached:
(sorry folks can't post URLS yet)
However, an electronic smoking product (e.g. e-cigarette) that does not
have any associated health claims and is not associated with nor intended
to be used with nicotine (nor any other drug nor NHP) is not regulated
under the Food and Drugs Act.
I trust this answers your questions. Should you have any further questions
please don't hesitate to contact us directly.

Customs
They should have just said "we don't trust you to find a healthy alternative to something we make mad bank taxing".
My order finally cleared customs after sitting there over 3 weeks. It was a fair sized order, about 400ml of nic juice and some hardware, so I didn't think it would ever get through. But it did.
Of course, in the meantime I ordered more from Canadian suppliers, so now I have enough juice to last the wife and I more than a year.
