I think, that involves using data from rope fiber, which sounds like it might be similar. Also, there are different kinds of Nylons and Poly's that will melt somewhat differently.

Good info in that chart there. However, it looks like Polyester has a high melt point like Nylon does, slightly higher.

I don't think our problems with the polyester were much in the way or burning or melting so much as its wicking capability.

Typical me mistake... find the chart, then read the polypropolene instead of polyester line ... thanks for pointing that out...

Now im tempted to get some foil and have the poly and nylon fight it out under the broiler, if only I had a vid cam lol

Does anyone know what temp the atty's reach on common models?

What I like about nylon over poly is poly is good when it is brand new, but nylon lasts for days without even rinsing, that was my personal problem with Poly.

Edit: Hmm Has anyone tried anything space age ceramic-ish, like aramid, the stuff is bullet proof, literally.

Make sure your atomizer isn't smashing into the tea bag roll, you want it to just be touching. Try topping off the cart, then a drip or two on your atomizer.

I did this mod in my 901 Screwdriver and it works great, sure it is as safe as the original cart filling.

Remove string

Cut top seam off bag. (put tea for use as loose leaf later

Cut bottom seam off bag.

Cut side seam off bag. You should now how have a long rectangle of nylon mesh. (Good time to rinse and let dry, tea has lots of tasty oils that probably aren't good for vaping)

Cut this in half length wise. You now have two long, narrow rectangles of mesh.

Roll one rectangle loose, and trim to normal, just shorter than the cart, length.

Roll the other a bit tighter, still not quite tight, and trim it just shorter than the other roll

Place it into the center of the other roll.

Place combined roll in cart

I've found this works even better than the nylon bags usually do.

I think the advantage is that filler has a little cup in it for the atomiser to fit in. like the dent in the polyfill that the atty forms. You can make this even more cup like by pushing pulling the center and getting the roll to spiral into a very short tube (like a kid would roll up a paper and sort of stretch out and use as a pirate spy glass or to poke and annoy a sibling) and trimming, which gets a nice bowl/cone shape for the atty.

Please tell us if you try this, or anything else out, with your bag rolling/folding, and how it works out!

And how long before the carts just come with this stuff in them? Nylon Teabags FTW!

By the way, there are many more teas than the Lipton Pyramid that use that bag design, so consider this a chance to enjoy all kinds of crazy tea!

I actually only use one half of the teabag. I find that half of the teabag, loosely rolled, is much more effective than a full teabag folded over or rolled twice. it allows a lot more space between the layers, which allows for more effective wicking. Added bonus is that you get two cart fillers out of each teabag. The flavor, the vapor, the amount of liquid used before topping up is needed everything is better.
