Arrow My ecig/juice frustration rant :(

o sure .. i look at other websites, from other countries ... ( i almost feel like i am cheating on the canadian suppliers ...)

the other types of e cigs, the various packages .... the juicE ... oooooooo the juice .... mmmmmmmmmmm...

VG, with GOOD flavoured nicotine, is my preference. i have found one canadian company, who's service is slow, the shipping stupidly pricey when compared to the other two that i deal with.

the idea of a DIY process isn't appealing to me, at all.

so while, happy vaper has some awesome flavours, i still need nicotine.

so is this what i would have to do???????

i would order from canvape or vapes mart for the unflavoured nic juice, THEN go go happy vaper?

get my flavour and suppliers from him?

o and yea, neither of these guys has VG! the only that does, quitstix, and the last time i ordered from them, i was not impressed with their service. at all. was NOT worth the $15 for shipping!!!

so HOW much am i paying in shipping to order all of this, separatly, if i go the first route? hmmm ..... happy vaper, flavour, supplies, can vape or vapes mart, unflavoured nic juice and my batts and attys cuz happy vapor doens't carry the 901.

and i STILL don't have VG? AND i am doing the DIY thing? which i DON"T want to do???

    RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!

crap ... potentially, three different shipping charges. then mix it all up in a bottle and PRAY i did it right?

cuz DIY can go wrong. i dont' care what the people who love it say, the idea of handing raw nicotine scares the crap out of me. o yes, i read the warning posted on this site. and yes, i am taking it seriously. i have bad eyesite, and a shaky hand. o yea...making my own potentially harmful to my skin if it hits me? yup, right up there with want i want to do .....

o, and by the way, i need to put this post into context. i am DYING for a real smoke. like i could KILL for one. like, this e cig is JUST not doing it. at all. yes, i need to clean my attys, and this, and that o and wait, you can make your OWN cart, just grab a tea bag and away you go000...

    ugh ......

this vaping thing is really hard. i am not really getting what i want out of this product consistantly. no matter how hard I try. no matter what forum post i read. i just get more and more frustrated.

yada yada yada ...... at this rate, i would potentially be paying shipping to happy vaper, OR canvape OR vapes mart OR quitstix OR some kind of combination, just to get what i want!!!!!!!!!!!

or take the chance with quitstix and HOPE the order shows up in a timely manner when the other companies have AWESOME shipping at a reasonable rate? quitstix's prices for their 901 batts atty's and kits are MORE expensive than my two other guys that i regularly purchase from. o sure, they are pretty colours .. but are the really worth $15 when i can get one from the other guys for $12? and their shipping is under $7???

no offence to the canadian guys. but that just seems like a LOT of fkn work. i mean c'mon guys. can't you people work together just a bit more? is it really that hard to pull some of the resources you have to give a one stop shopping place? or, because of all the crap you guys have to go through, as importers, that really is the best that you can do.

ok, so maybe this is the vent / \ rant that some of you don't want to read, and i get that

but because of the crap going on with the e cig industry for canadians, it makes it all the more frustrating.

yes, i am glad this product can be purchased. most times, it does work .. but when the batt breaks when you are out of the house, and the other one you have just ran out of power? (and please, no one say get a 501 .. i just don't like the way they look.)

ok, i think i am done. thanks for reading ... ` sighs heavily`

regarding VG juice, most ppl inside or outside of canada mostly all offer PG, few of them deal with VG it seems...if u were to go the DIY route, happyvaper has VG as well as PG,flavorings,supplies...so u'd only need 2 places, happyvaper for DIY supplies & vapesmart for unflavored nic juice...did u check the video i posted for u about diluting/mixing in a previous thread? with unflavored ur not handling RAW nicotine or extracting it, its already been extracted into the juice, its no diff. than other pre-made juice besides being unflavored and higher strength...all it needs is flavoring and VG/PG...but if ur still scared of higher strength juices, depending on what mg u vape, u can just dilute normal strengths like 24/18/etc...otherwise, i duno what u can do, unless electronic-cigz starts stocking JC's reduced PG formula...assuming it would be reduced enough for u...or try mixing PG juices with VG and maybe it won't be enuff PG in the mix that it'll make u feel nasty or whatever

EDIT/UPDATE: i just remembered, vapables just started running custom juice, maybe u can get them to do full VG for u or whatever mixes u take...anyways, i'm done, this is off-topic anyways, sorry mods hehe...

Mlady..a few things that made all the difference for me and many others who hit that period of frustration:

-Get a mod with proper batteries. There are tons of good ones out there to choose from. You can get mods that are very small, others that will let you vape for days without a battery change and everything in between. Not all of them are outrageously priced and getting reliable, solid performance every time you vape is quite a change from the sadly inadequate batteries in regular ecigs.

-DIY isn't dangerous. You can wash your hands in the unflavoured nic without feeling anything (I do NOT recommend it and yes, Ive had my hands drenched in it countless times). It may sound hard but it really is quite easy. A single good sized order of unflavoured nic can last you for well over a year. At that point you are no longer constrained by what HC decides to do and all you have to order is flavourings from the many, many places that carry them.

-I try to order Canadian whenever I can, but when I'm buying bulk I go for the cheapest reliable source I can find.

    Hey Mlady,

    1) You are really asking for a lot from the suppliers. Think of it this way.

    10 (flavors) x 3 (strengths) x 2 (sizes) x 2 (PG of VG) = 120 options

if they keep 5 on had of each thats 600 bottles they have to stock or $13,200 of product. Remember this isn't really legal in Canada either, so who wants $13,200 of product sitting around for when Health Canada comes knocking?

Other option is they mix it for you. But I doubt any of the suppliers have labs, so to you really want your stuff mixed in a dirty bathroom, or kitchen?

    2) Price of shipping is a fact of life with online shopping. Cheapest shipping in Canada is 8 bucks. You can't expect someone to send you 10 bucks of product and eat 8 bucks of shipping. This applies to everywhere, from e-bay to future shop, you can't beat on the Canadian Suppliers for that, beat on Canada Post. All some of the supplies will including shipping if you order enough product, like $100 bucks.

You can buy the stuff like Lorans at Bulk Barn. Its 2 bucks, a whole 40 cents cheaper than Happy Vapor. For the 40 cents markup, I sure you don't need to wonder why more suppliers are not carring it. I might add Happy Vapor stocks a much better selection than Bulk Barn, which I would say is well worth 40 cents.

It all comes down to the golden rule of online shopping, order as much as you can/need all in one order to combine shipping.

    3) Mods might help, but so does stronger Juice. Order the 36 and vape it straight up. That works for me, a 2 pack a day smoker. As for DIY, if you order the 30ml of 26mg, all you have to do is add one 3.7ml Lorann flavor. Pop the cap and pour it in. Its really easy if you buy a suringe. Just suck it up and shoot it in. Done. No spills, no mixing, its already measured out for you.

Have a smoke then. I don't think its a bad thing...

Sometimes e-cigs just weren't enough and I had an analog.

After 2 weeks, I've smoked 2 packs of 20, down from over 20 packs of 20.

No not 100% off smokes, but that is one heck of an improvement, and it wasn't hard to do.

Default firstof all .. thanks to the moderator who put this post in a better place!

and to all the advice, and common sense that i don't have, as i am SOOO unfamiliar with this product, the process of becoming a non smoker, and even the world on online shopping.

so much that i didn't know, that i do know now. also, i won't rant like this again ... i promise ...

i have a lot to read over, and really take some time to consider each of the points being made with this thread.

i will respond to the DIY issue.

if it is as easy and not as complicated as the forum posts it to be, then, WHY is the e cig forum, posting it THE way THAT they are?

to cover their own perverbial butts? or, cuz it really can be done, wrong. i am not kidding about the shaky hand or the blind eyes. you should see how big i have to make the font on the computer! you know how pressing CTRL and scrolling with the mouse pad makes the monitor screen, magnify?

yup .... that blind ... thus my concern on DIY ... i will take another look at the posts on this topic, however, and see what may work for me.

yes, thanks for the video, and thanks for the 3.7 equation. but when all you read on an e cig forum, that gives you basically, the only guide you have on how to use this product .... ???

i am sure there is another website out there that discusses e cigs. but i am sticking to one, not many, to get my advice. less complicated that way.

thats' my point of view on it.

it is great to have a supportive community around the issues of how to become non smoker with this product. smoking an analog was not a choice for me. i have been told, by two doctors, to quit. not to do it half ways, so to speak. so for me, going out to by a pack, was tantamount to starting smoking all over again. for me, that wasn't the best choice.

o and a question that i can't figure out... mod. is that short for model? modification? modest? what??? `giggles` just need to know ...

if ur really shaky or with really bad vision, see if u can find someone u trust to do it for u...with DIY, just make sure u wear gloves, some don't, but that's just their way...and make sure u do it someplace and in a container where an accidental leak won't cause a problem! keep something to clean up any mess right by you and of course make sure to wash all containers after...when using the measurement calculator for recipes, to be safer and accurate, make sure to go by measurements, not drops, cuz thinness or thickness of diff. liquids will drop bigger/smaller

i believe MOD is short for modifications, but i can't say for sure

UPDATE: they make the warnings like that to be sure everyone's aware of what they're doing, to cover their asses, and some other reasons...also, some of the warnings might be regarding extraction or whatever of pure nicotine or some process other than diluting/mixing...

The DIYs on here here for e-juice are overcomplicating it. What they are talking about is "cutting" e-juices to get the correct Nicotine %. You don't have to worry about that if you are already starting with the nicotine % you want. Also their list of ingrediants is like what a chef would prepare. They are all trying to make a complicated great tasting mixture. Same as you don't have to be a master chef to make dinner, its sometimes as simple as adding water to the package and letting it boil. Thats how simple adding flavoring to base is.

*** remeber not to complicate things, but different flavoring has different strengths so it requires a different amount. If you stick to Loranne's its 10%. One 1 dram (3.7ml) little bottle its sold in to 30 ml of e-juice.

As for the dangers they talk about they are talking about mixing pure nicotine. You don't want to mess with that, and you are right your shaky hands and pure nicotine will result in disaster. But remeber the strongest e-juce out there is 60 mg/ml which is only 6% nicotine by volume. Its like compairing beer to pure alchol.. Many of us have taken a mouthful of e-juice, without fatal results. Therefor if you are mixing and NOT using pure nicotine (let me know if you can get your hands on it LOL), unless you take a bath in e-juice, or "spill" the whole bottle in your mouth, even at 36mg/ml you should be fine. This was answered by a chemist in on of the threads in the Canadian area here.

Keep the rants coming I enjoy reading a good rant

I just got some vanilla custard flavour the other day from Jack. Here is the entire process to make some 18mg vanilla custard mix:

-Fill a clean bottle half full with 36mg unflavoured (I don't bother measuring..just eyeball it)
-Fill the rest of the bottle with vanilla custard mix

Done. I now have a very rich mix of 18mg vanilla vape that will last me weeks and took me 2 minutes.

If a flavour is too strong..I use less flavour and top off with VG (available at pharmacies, Walmart and Michaels)

    It really is that simple.

I think you missed explaining the "mix" used here and it could be confusing...

In that case the vanilla custard mix was in PG. So 1 part (say 30ml) of 36mg e-juice plus 1 equal part of custard MIX = 60ml of e-juice at 1/2 the orginal strength of nicotine, (36mg/2 = 18mg). Remeber the MIX didn't have any nicotine.

Using straight Loranne flavor, because its concentrated, will not noticably reduce the nicotine content per volume, nor increase the volume, as in this example. 30ml e-juice + 3.7ml Lorannes = 33.7ml e-juice (3ml more who cares) at 32mg/ml. Again who cares

Another case to use a local vender. You could simply ask him before you order it, and he'll send the right stuff.
