Default Cartos burning out at a high rate

I am not that active on the forum these days, so apologies if this has already been discussed.

I've noticed lately that I will sometimes put a carto on my battery, activate it, and immediately get an overwhelming blast of burnt smoke. This has happened to me several times in the past couple of weeks. The cartos are neither brand-new or old, but are always well-filled. The batteries are not fresh off the charger.

Yesterday, I was vaping away on a carto and started to sense it was going to run dry. I replaced it with another carto that had been used a couple of times already and was about a day old (and well-filled, of course). As soon as I hit the button, I got a whoosh of dry, burnt, smoky taste. Once this happens, the carto is ruined.

The batteries are Riva 510's (eGo clones that put out between 4.2v - 3.7v) and Boge LR cartos. I've been using this setup for months and have only had this problem for the past couple of weeks.

Not only is the taste burnt and smoky, but the volume of vapor is much larger. When this happens, I can hold out my PV, hit the button, and watch the vapor come out of the mouthpiece. This would never happen normally.

    Thoughts?

Before I vape a carto I always do a shake like a thermometer. Makes sure the juice is at the coils.

I had one the other day that was a couple hours old and working fine and all of a sudden I got the bad burnt taste. I kept lowering the voltage but nothing helped. I put it on the provari to check the ohms and it said .9! It shorted out. I'm lucky I didn't lose the device I was using it on.

I had 4 out of a 5 pack of Boge 2.0's do that to me on Saturday. Basically one right after the other. The 5th one seems fine.

Maybe someone had a bad manufacturing day at the factory recently?

There has been a LOT of bad Boge's out there recently. They usually don't perform like that unless they're dry. Although, you mentioned that you had put on a carto that sat for a while. If you didn't put the rubber caps back on it then it can easily dry out.

I have noticed that my latest batch of 2.0 dcc's from MV have been "burning out" quickly. Don't know if I over-drive them, but I usually vape at 5~ volts on a 2.0 ohm dcc in a tank for at least a week or two. Lately I've noticed that after a few days, the resistance has changed to ~1 ohm or so. The carto usually vapes ok, just gets real warm. I think possibly the heat is changing the resistance of the coils. Anyhow, once that happens, I finish the tank, and toss the cart. Kind of funny - they might of changed their supplier in China, or they might have gotten a bad lot of nichrome, etc. Hard to tell at this point.

I've been having the same issue as the last 2 packs of bogue 2.0 cartos I've bought 7 of them instantly burnt out and another burnt our shortly thereafter. I only ordered the bogues because everyone said how reliable they are, so maybe I'm just having some bad luck or maybe they are all still hungover from Chinese New Year and making bad cartos.

Out of curiosity, has anyone checked the carto's with a meter before and after a vape on a fresh one?

I've been using smoktech resurrectors and they've been going UP in resistance. The last pack I've used has all done that. The one I'm using now is metering 2.8 and it is supposed to be 1.7 I just checked it and it has now gone to 3.4! I just started using it yesterday. This should be interesting what happens next.

I check my carto's ohms on the provari when I first start using them, I can't remember what this one said, I think 2.0 out of the box but they are definatly going up.
