Step by step forming a SS screen in a 901 cart

I gave that a try with no success. It is possible I am using a finer mesh screen then you. It will not matter in a little while. I am working on a cart mod that extends the fluid reservoir all the way back to the base of the cart. I will just have to remove the base cap, a plug and then fill it like a dropper bottle.

This mod should hold roughly two times the liquid, and be really easy to refill.

Ok I love this mod, I tried the rose, and Y type and did not have much luck, so I tried a formed version with a dimple, it worked perfectly. Form fitted to a 901 cart and I can put it in any direction no worry about lining up the Y slot. Well here is what I did:

I got about 5 pipe screen kits, that came with 5 SS screens, 3 large and two smaller ones, I decided on the larger ones to try this with. I first took a 901 cart and cut it in half:

I then formed the two screens on a pen top to get the form:

Next I used a smaller mechanical pencil to push the screen in from the cut side of the 901 cart, continually forming and pushing as I went:

Almost in!!!

Flip side all the way in and flattened:

Now I flipped it over and pushed with the mechanical pencil to form the dimple, I found that if I pushed this way it would bottom out on the table and I could get a good dimple in it for the atty to rest against:

Here is the formed screen, not how to get into the cart as it will fight me the whole way as the scree edges are frayed and will catch:

Easy push it back into the cut 901 cart and use you fingers to taper the end that will go into the cart:

Now gently insert it into the cart and ensure the edges do not get caught, keep rotating it until it starts to go in:

Now seat it flush and use an old atty and seat it the rest of the way:

To fill, tap it so the screen comes back to the top a little and angle it at a 45 degree angle, then drip into one side and the air comes out the other. When refilling it, blow on the screen so you force the liquid that has collected back into the cart so air can get out.
TADA!
Done.

I theory this should work with any cart, just cut an old one in half and use it to form the screen. I have made 5 so far with this teqnique use in the same cut 901 cart as the former.

Yes any cig store should have them, I got mine from discount tobbaco .59 cents. Stainless steel pipe screen.

Yup, just ask for pipe screens. A buck or 2 at the most for a small package.

I wanted to use this mod but was concerned about the green tint some people were noticing after a day or so. I used a round 3/4 inch brass screen as a template and laid it on a 1" stainless steel round screen. I then cut around the brass to make a 3/4 inch circle. I repeated this until I made 3 3/4 inch round stainless steel screens. The wholes in the stainless steel are a little bigger than the brass but once I made the plug it didn't seem to leak at all. I then used STRIC9's method of folding one screen about a third up and then folded down to the other edge. I repeated this with 2 more screens. I then took some pliers and made sure they were flat. I placed 2 of the screens together and rapped the third around the other two about 2/3's toward the top. I used the pliers again to tighten the ring holding them together a little. Then place in cart so the top edges are almost flush with the top of the cart. Mine stick up about 2 millimeters about the top of the cart. Then I took a small phillips head screwdriver and made some room in the plug so the atomizer bridge would not be crushed. Works like a charm, no brass, no tea bag, no bad taste. It does take some time to make and with the stainless being harder to work with you will get stuck once or twice but it will be worth it. If you need more instruction just let me know. I wan't to make the rose mod but I am really not sure how to do it so if anyone can explain or has a video please let me know.
