Are all you guys modding 510 carts or is anyone doing 810's? Truthfully the PTB works like magic for me in my 510's. So no issue there.

My problem is the 810 carts from my new Janty Stick and getting the damn things to wick. I tried a quick one in one of my 810's and it leaked like a sieve.

I've only done 510 & 901 carts (both for use on a 510). I initially did it per the OP instructions and had mixed results. This morning I tried again but I rolled it like Rhoneil suggested. So far they seem better (no leaking or flooding). I had problems working with it at first.... I am actually wondering if the screens my local tobacco store sells aren't stainless. They really don't look brass colored. This came to my mind after seeing Rhoneil comment that the stainless was harder to work with.

I've been using the blue foam for a little while now with great success but figured I'd check this out as it seems "safer". I will give it a try for a week or two and see what I think.

There were only two types of screen where I picked mine up from. Brass and Stainless Steel. Only the gold and the sliver color. I dont know if they have another type of the gold color. I didnt realize it at first but the silver ones were wearing down my fingertips as well as the carts I was putting them in. It was all tore up.

Hey where did you get your blue foam? I'd like to try this mod. I've been using PTB's on the 510's and they're great. Is the Blue foam even better?

My post here tries to explain it:
    Eheim filterpad mod

I personally got it from Petsmart but you can get it just about any pet store. The post above has the UPC and more detailed info on the description.

As to what is better, I don't know because I never tried the PTB mod. I think a couple others have tried both though.

If you have more questions on it though, I'd post in the above thread just to keep the threads on the right topic.

Been searching my area for the screens with no luck. One guy at a cigar shop suggested I check one of the local "head shops". I hate to think what he thought I wanted the screen for, heh.

I am probably going to have to order online. Hate paying $3.00 shipping for a $1.00 item. It isnt the amount overall that bothers me, its paying someone so much for something so cheap.

Im a big fan of the blue foam now. I was getting a little tired of messing with PTB, especially if its cut to fit into the bottom of a 801 cart, plus cut at the top so the atty doesnt smash it down. Makes it virtually impossible to rinse out, roll back up and reuse.

Now the foam, it holds its shape, wicks well and doesnt hold onto juice. I was having probs with PTB and high bridge attys. The PTB would either stick to the bridge when I pulled the cart off, or it got pushed down so it wasnt even touching the bridge. Im pretty happy with the blue foam and a wad of polyfill at the top. Been vaping on the same cart all day without a single atty taste, which I was unable to achieve even with ptb.

Been doing the foam and fluff on top too, working really great on my 510 and 401! Hooked up to my PT and seems I'm vaping away forever on one fill up!

The ultimate cartridge filler would be titanium mesh or wool. Titanium is biologically inert and safe to inhale (in fact, one of the tests for reduced lung function uses titanium dioxide as contrast), has a very high melting temperature, is virtually immune to corrosion at ordinary temperatures, reacts to very few acids, and so on. Fine titanium mesh can have an open space percentage in the mid-80's (making PTC mesh look sad). Only problem is that it's expensive as hell (approximately $8 for enough to fill an 801 atomizer).
