510 plasti-dip cart rebuild

In my opinion carts don't hold enough or wick well enough.
The amount this mod will hold is only limited by the length you can live with.
It is squeezable in the middle so it wicks on demand.

Parts to make it:
A clear small diameter drinking straw.The kind that come in white paper.
A piece of .325" ID X .005" Wall plastic tube from Zeus Peek Sublite Wall Tubing 0AWG .325" ID x .0050" Wall - SmallParts.com

Plasti-dip in the color of your choice. I got mine at US plastics and used black non-aerosol. Plasti-Dip-Aerosol Or Liquid Air Dry Synthetic Rubber Coating - US Plastic Corporation

How to do it:
Cut up a cart until it looks like this. Other pieces also shown.



Epoxy the straw piece in the cut up cart and plug the end with epoxy.
Seal it so it won't leak on the outside where the round straw meets the square hole.
This is the juice reservoir.



Epoxy the outer plastic tube on. Flat toothpicks in the vents help keep glue from blocking them. Try and seal it up so plasti-dip won't leak in later.
White plastic part is roughed up a bit so plasti-dip will get a grip.
Button looking thing from the inside of a cart is used to temporarily seal it for dipping. Broken toothpick to seal that.

Much much harder than simply changing filler material but it really really works well. I hope someone tries it.

Children can chew on it as far as I can tell.
Most epoxies are inert after curing as far as I know also. But I could be wrong.

Thats a really nice mod! Quick question.. is there any prob with taking off the cart? Meaning the epoxy glue wont crack or break off pulling the cart off? What brand epoxy are you using?

It's easier to take the rubber finger grip off of an Ink Pen. Slip it onto the atomizer, and then unscrew the funnel cone on the end of the pen. Put it in the rubber facing the center in the atomizer, and push it in till it almost hits. Just drip into it, and it works every time.

Takes about 1 min to put it together. Plus it keeps your atomizer cooler, and lets you vape longer.

EDIT: Never mind I thought you made a dip cart.

Your idea looks kool as it holds liquid to keep vapping.

The weakest link is where the outer tube meets the original cart.
That is why I left about 1/4" of the original cart sticking out (the roughed up portion) so I could grab that part to pull it off.
I did make one version where I just used a small strip of tape to cover that joint with no glue at all and it still worked OK. But I could feel flexing.
If you could get the outer tube out after plasti dipping it would still work fine. Maybe need another dip or two.
On the other hand, the perfect glue would not need plast-dip.
More glue the better though.

I use Loctite 7 minute plastic epoxy because I have no patience.

EDIT: I am back to using stock cart material. PTB is not necessary

Update on precision dripper mod that came from this mod. But I posted it here

for some reason.

I have eliminated glue in the juice chamber and used a rubber plug.
Rubber plug is pushed in and then the end of the plastic tube is melted a bit so plug can't come out.

Eliminated the glue on the blunt syringe needle by splitting and flaying it like a cotter key so I can pull it out for refilling

Also found some glue that actually works with this type of plastic.
3M scotch-weld DP 8005. Expensive and short open time but it sticks.

No filler is the best filler (for me).
This is game over for me and the 510 cart.
But I have an 801 coming so I can play with that
