I tried this last night with terrible results. I am using a straw to hold up the plug at the top. The first straw I believe I cut too short so the plug was too thick and it didn't wick well. The second try, the straw was too long so the plus was too small and I ended up with a badly flooded atty and fluid everywhere. I trimmed the straw down a little, increased the plug a little and it wicked better than the first and didn't leak but it still isn't right. Guess I need to try again tonight.

I'm using a straw cut to have rings on top and bottom and 2 supports going up (I squish it flat and cut it into an "I" shape), and it's working pretty well on my 901 cart. I think maybe I got it a bit too short, so I'll try the next one a bit longer and see if I can keep the blue Marineland foam (cut into a square, then 2 corners trimmed slightly) closer to the rim (it's getting squished down a bit).

Another added to my combo filler method. First is the hole on the side--there because I'd previously put them there to help air flow to empty the cart. Then the straw. Then a small amount of wool filler. Then the spring. Then the liquid. Last but not least the plug and a drop or two of liquid. Combo is working pretty good. Using my first attempt so I'll see how things go from here. Question: Anyone find a good & cheap source of small plastic springs?

Thanks Scotty, it's working great for me. I needed a little more poly than shown on the vid to avoid flooding.

Oh man! This is working great on my 510...BIG VAPOR! I've only been vaping for a week and I've tried only two cart mods, this one and the rolled/folded/frayed PTB (which is great as well), so I "do" have limited experience, but I really like this mod...a lot. Yup...a LOT! HG |

Hey thanks for the tip Scottyballs. I'm going to give it a whirl. So where do you get the filler that your using at? I still have the fill that came w/ my first 5 carts but would like to know what else works.

No prob.. Im just using the stuff that came in the carts.. pepole have had diffrent results using green scotch bright pads.. and fish tank filters.. however they need to be cut just right. to small and it will leak, to big and it wont stay wet.. Im sticking with the polly that came in the carts since Ive had no problums, you can use a pretty small peice of polly without flooding the addy.. I guess its personal prefrence really | |
