On the way home stopped at the pet store, got the same stuff - beats 'em all, so far... Thanks for you perseverence!!! Definetely on the right track!! Still wonder if a single paper hole punch would make the cutting much easier????

Just tried as i remembered that we have one.. hehe. NO! No way a hole punch will work as its like 10xs too small. Unless theres such a thing as a large hole punch.

I don't have a hole punch that I know of. But for us m40X users, that sounds like it would be just about the right size! Gonna rummage through my roommate's desk tomorrow

Seems to be pretty much hit and miss for getting the plug the exact size. The blue foam might be easier to make an outline for cutting though. If I find it too hard to make them with the scrubber, then I'll try the blue foam. What we really need is a cutter that's exactly the right size. Like a punch. Any machinists here?
DO NOT USE THE HEAVY DUTY SCRUBBERS AS THEY HAVE ABRASIVE METAL EMBEDDED IN THEM!!

    Use the BLUE NON-SCRATCH SCRUBBERS.

PMD - The straw mod makes a really nice lip in ANY 510 cart. I have round and flat tips. Pack the material to the TOP of the cart. You'll see a nice indent from the atty bridge, so it wicks REALLY well and the straw keeps it fro being pushed into the cart further.

The only prob i can think with the straw would be that some fluid would get stuck behind it.

That's why you notch the bottom of the straw. You can literally suck the cart dry this way.

I use the straw mod on my round tip 510's. I cut the straw between 1 3/8 and 1 1/2" with notches on the bottom. It does make a stable platform for the plug and seems to allow the last bit of fluid to flow to the plug better.
