901's don't have it, but if you look down inside a 510 cart, you'll see an area where it narrows on the sides on the inside (about where the air vents are on the outside). You might have to look at an angle to see the sort of beveled bit. That's what people are calling the "lip."

Can't get this working for me, had high hopes too.
Found the right foam ( you were right, not on website but in store)
Atty's are gettin hot, real hot but it ain't producing, obviously I'm doing this wrong, wasting juice flooding or juice not leaking and just not doing what it should. getting frustrated for now.

You may have the plug cut too big. If the atty is going dry but the cart still has fluid. Try trimming a *little* off the plug. And you might want to "prime" the plug if it's dry, just add a drop or two to the top of the plug, the part that touches the bridge.

Today it went to the local mall.. its an outdoor mall. So i was vaping away. I bought 2 extra carts and an extra atty. Hey, just encase

So low and behold the damn things are not wicking right. I guess my latest size of 11-11.50mm long is too big and its squishing the foam too much for any fluid to wick through.

I'm dragin and dragin away hard puffs to get it to work. At the end of the night i have a nice plasticly taste in my mouth.. sucks.

Anyways, i'm back to the original size i believe.. It has a very slow leaky faucet drip going on but for same reason i like it.. hehe. Seems to last forever though.

I also found something strange out tonight. When it runs dry you can add a couple of drops to the plug. On mine i could get 3 drops.. one more drop and it pooled up bigtime. I was outside when this happend and i just gave the cart a quick wrist flick and all good.

I'll tell you this.. 3 freakin drops and the damn thing is going and going and going. Hittin hard with no signs of letting up. I sat there and basicly chain vaped the thing and it would not run out. I came in and sat at the computer to write this and took another hit that totally would resemble the first hit off a full cart.

Now, i used to top off all the time with the poly-fil. 3 drops and i would never ever get anywhere near this many hits off of it. Basicly, 3 drops would be a smoke for me. I've also have dripped 2-3 drops into the atty and it would'nt last this long either. This has to be many smokes... if not a pack! heheh kidding.

    Just awesome..

Back to playing with the size.. Glad your all having better luck then i am. I must be thinking too much about it.

It is rather difficult to get the size and "squish" of the blue foam just right.
Too big and too compact = slow wicking / flow
Too small and too loose = addy floodage / leak
It tends to be rather hard to get it just right. I am finding after a few weeks that I can get it just about balanced. I may get a little leakage at first but nothing too bad or nothing a simple wipe off cant fix and then after that smooth sailing. If you want to have good wicking then you might just have to accept the fact that you are going to get a bead or two of leakage every now and then.
    Its a fragile balance.

Thanks Scottes, it's working well now, great mod, feel I'm really using all the juice instead of tossing juice soaked ptb's away all the time.
my prob was hard draw atty's I keep having trouble with , not the mod itself.
Not being so precise with cutting exact dimention of foam, just winging it

I will have to try this mod !

I wonder if when a bit too big and too compact you cannot just use a needle and make some holes to help the flow ?

I made this video after seeing this post. It is the best method I have used thus far for the 510.

Search this on youtube, I can't post links here yet...

Fluval and the blue foam are different stuff.. Fluval is basicly like poly but stiffer, long haired stuff. The blue foam is bonded foam and is spongy.

Vaperhead4life.. is this your video? Joye 510 Titan Blu Fluval Cart Mod E-Cig If it is.. you might want to change the name to blue foam if possable.. Not that big of a deal though as the product bag is shown with the correct name.

That mod looks like the normal blue foam filler mod where you use a cart length piece and not the plug like my mod.

Oh and them0nk.. if your talking about the blue bonded foam.. No no headaches over here.
