Blue Foam PLUG! UPDATED v2.0 "THE SLUG" - The Search is over!

HOLD OFF ON THIS PLUG VERSION! The version below is too thick and it holds juice. Noticed that when it felt dry i'd touch it with the tweezers and it still had juice in the plug. Draw was real firm as well. I guess i was too tired last night when i was vaping. This morning i was messing with it and now i believe the new one coming is the home run! Perfect size and consistancy.. easier draw. I was even able to fill it from the top after installing the plug lol. Nice change.

I've come up with a better plug. Tried it last night. Didnt get to mess with it till late this evening. Basicly 2 pieces side by side.

Going to be real tuff to explain it so i'll get some pics up and details tomorrow.

Reason to the change is.. i've found that it works better if its taller as it will make better "deeper" contact with the bridge. Now the ruff part is that the foam only comes in that one thickness so were stuck using 2 pieces to get this done.

I'll try to explain the size real quick..

While typing this i've found a SUPER SIMPLE way to make this that everyones gona love!

Pull out one of those large square pieces of the foam. Cut one long strip of the foam about a 1/4 inch wide. Fill the cart up wtih fluid up to the lip of the cart as before.

Now take the long strip and put the 2 ends together. So your doubling up the long strip with the wide sides touching. Now shove the ends into the top of the cart and use a pair of tweezers to push the pieces in. Obviously you want it only as deep as the inner cart lip. Once your sure its at the right height. Take your scissors and cut the flush with the top of the cart.

Add a drop or 2 to the top of the plugs. Insert and go!

Yeah.. the pics will most likely still be needed so i can show which way to insert the plugs.. basicly put, each plug will have 2 lips to rest on. It will be a strong plug and wick like a beast!

Not to take anything away from anybody as all of these mods seem to work quite well but I use the blue foam for my 510, cut it slightly wider and longer than the cartridge, insert it with tweezers and cut it flush with the top. This seems to work just fine for me and doesn't involve any sort of precision. When I need to top off it's usually 12-15 drops. With the standard poly-fil it was a constant 2-3 drops.

My guess would be that the ultimate goal is to get as much liquid in the cartridge as possible but to me, 12-15 drops is quite a bit and will last a while.

Newest way above is'nt a precise cut.

Everyones dropper is different.. mine drops large drops, so 10 drops fills it up to the lip and another 2-3 drops and its good to go.

Obviously an empy chamber will hold more juice then having the foam down inside and or a straw or spring.

If i had a small dropper, i wonder what high number of drops it would be. hehe

2nd full cart and i'm in love! Need to change the name.. i keep calling it the "Slug". That will help seperate this from other plug mods.

Now have a massive NIC buzzzz... smoked it so hard and often that the atty was boiling hot and even the cart was hot on the lips! lol. I hope that gives you some indication of how much i love the new SLUG!

I'm going to fill the cart one more time so i can leak test it by standing my protege up so the juice will run downward. If it leaks, i'll cry.

The new way will be easy and something your sorta used to with the fold and shove it in and cut flush to the top of the cart way.

P.S. For those other simular mods involving a straw.. this one aint gona work for you.

Hi, all -

I've been lurking for a few weeks now, and this is my first post. I LOVE this mod & have been using it for five days. I've found I don't really need to be too precise with the foam length into the cart, as long as it's snug enough against the sides, it doesn't leak, but it seems to work best & last longest when its just resting on the inside lip of the cart, the way eclyspe described. TOO snug, of course - it won't draw. But there's a pretty wide range where it works just great. I line up the cart on the foam & cut with a small pair if scissors around the shape from the top to the inside lip (so it's a bit larger than the inside opening), trim off any rough edges, fill it, pop the foam in, prime the top of the foam with a couple drops, and its good to go. And it absolutely burns all the juice. I can taste immediately when it's out of juice, too - before the atty's dry, the cart gives me - hmm - dunno - dry & slightly burning taste. I've been trimming the foam slightly below the top of the cart. And it's very re-usable. I was out of town all week-end, and just mostly topped off regularly from my bottle rather than refilling carts. Worked great.

Based on the rich, thick vapor, and consistent draw, my SO has also decided he wants a 510 with this cart mod. Thank you, eclypse!! I'll definitely stay tuned for your updates, but thus far - this mod is working GREAT for me! Hard to imagine improvement, but I'm all eyes and ears...

Wonder how long its going to be before we see carts in the future manufactured with the blue foam. hehe. Were doing all the hard work for them i'm sure.

Hey, if its working great for you please continue with what your doing.

I think i'm mainly just trying to get it perfect and get the same results everytime.. also may be just the difference in the e-juice were all using. I know mine is thin juice.

Whenever i can get some time together "Hopefully soon now that i think i'm done with this mod" i can get some sales together so i can order up some new juice that i know will be thicker. Then i'll see which verison of my mod will work best with it.
