Your method is just like this mod Eheim filterpad mod
Hi Eclypse...I checked out that mod and that is not what I meant to describe. I'm simply replacing the original filler with a piece of foam of about the same size, that's all. I can fill the cart almost to the top before I put the foam back in, vapor is consistent from start to finish, it lasts a long time and it hasn't leaked on the two that I did this to.

Oh and BTW my 510 whistle-tip carts don't have that same ledge you have pictured. There is a ledge, but it's further down the cart and angles away from the atomizer end, basically where the outside flattens out. So even if a made a plug to stop at that point, I don't think the ledge will hold and I wouldn't get as much juice into it as I do now. Like I said, that stuff is so porous, you can fill nearly to the top and you'd think it would overflow when you put the foam back in but it doesn't.

Anyhow...KISS works for me and that's all that matters. Have a great weekend.

If this works - the images I was trying to post...

You'll need to cut and paste this, removing the extra spaces and replacing the [ dot ] with a '.' - duh... cuz I can't post links yet either - geez

Maybe a stupid question so bear with me here.

Would the extra foam that is in the kr808 box work as a plug? Maybe some of you guys here that have a 808d could check your box and let me know. It seems like the right consistency for the job.

No idea as i've never owned a kr808. Might want to try or ask at a kr808 form.

All day today i've been doing the slug differently and its working great. I'll share it on Monday when i get time to do so.. i'm too busy on the weekends.

Working so fine everytime that it takes for freakin ever to emtpy it! Sucks when you want to try a cart of a new flavor!

Runing 2 different ecigs at a time with the same mod.. When i get time i'll sit down and make one up with the slug and the other with the new mod and use the same hardware on both and with a fresh charged battery on each and see which one lasts longer! hehe..

I tried to do this in the morning and i noticed that with the new mod the atty was'nt getting hot like the old mod. Just warm. i was chain vaping one hit on one exhale and then i hit the other mod. I did that back and forth for probably over 20 mins straight and it was rediculous as neither one wanted to dry up lol.. Both were good but the new mod wicked alot better and the flavor was there. When i finally emptied the cart i pulled the slug and set it on a paper towel to look in the cart with a flashlight to see if there was anything left in the tank.. nothing! And the crazy thing was that the slug was totally dry! Not like normal where theres like a drop or so left in the slug and the towel would be wet under it. Totally freakin dry.

So cooler runing atty with the different mod means it should be awesome with high voltage.

I've been using a blue foam plug for a few weeks now. My search is over for stock carts. I went from the ehiem mod, to the ADM mod, to just a plain plug. My plug is a bit smaller than yours. I cut it 1.5X the width and 1.5X the length of the cart opening. Fill and plug. I use both round tips and flat tips with no difference. I put the plug flush and let the atomizer bridge set it to its depth.

A few tips for new users to this type of mod:

Do not turn the cart once you put it on the atomizer.

Be sure to install the cart in the correct orientation to the bridge (small edge of cart opening should match up with the flat side of the atomizer bridge). This is hard to explain without pictures, sorry.

When you get a strong flavor hit (I call it a fume hit) the liquid in the cart is gone, although your bridge and foam are still saturated. I refill when this happens. This assures my atomizer never runs dry.

Yeah, right before mine goes dry I can taste a difference, but it's not until the thing is very near totally dry. This mod is just be bees knees in my book. So easy to work with the foam when refilling. It's a snap to fill 2-3 carts at a time and you know they'll be hot and ready when you need them.

That is all that's needed really - and what eclypse says about using a straw - 'less real estate' - is also true of the foam - I use only as much as needed to stop leaks.
