    Talking Went searching for blue foam and...

    ...I hit the mother load! Since the nearest PetSmart, etc. is an hour drive I went to WalMart first. While they had blue foam filters they were in a cartridge form, no 'U' sleeve...

    So I headed to the only other option in town, a 'mom and pop' pet store. I went in, told the owner was I was looking for and looked down and saw a HUGE spool of blue foam and a bunch of pre-cut sheets! I bought two 1.5'x .5' pieces figuring that would suffice to experiement w/ this mod. Sweet find indeed

    hmm...it doesn't look like the Marineland Hot Magnum blue foam/sponge, looks more like blue Fluval too me..

    Looks like it might be a good filler material though.

    Yeah, I realized that after looking at the close-up pics of the Marineland foam...lol...I'm about to try it and see how it works

    It's spongy but more like 'batting' so I think it's the fluval type.

    I'd like to try this 'blue' foam stuff, looking at petco site,
    is this stuff:

    'Rite-Size Foam/Filter Sleeves for HOT Magnum'
    Foam sleeve custom designed for HOT Magnum Media Container and Micron Cartridge

    the same thing?
