Please DO NOT use the GREEN scrubbies unless they are NON-SCRATCH scrubbies. Many of the heavy duty green scrubbies have metal abrasives embedded in them. It's the blackish "dust" you see after using them to scrub something.
The BLUE Scotch Brite pads shouldn't have the abrasives.
I see that I'm going through what I think is an awful lot of e-liquid (almost 24 ml in a month - is that a lot for someone who used to smoke a pack a day?) and I think a lot is wasted.
That is all relative, but 24ml doesn't seem like a lot in a month.
I tried the mod with a spring and ended up putting two springs in there because there is no notch inside the "whistle" type mouthpiece. Works okay, I'll have to see how long that liquid lasts in there. Then I tried the mod with the straw and I just used the poly fill that comes with the cartridges. Also works okay, but again, I'll have to see how long the liquid lasts in there. I have to say, I am getting a lot of liquid in my mouth with the straw mod, am I doing something wrong?
You probably need to make the plug larger to seal the end better. Use a larger piece of filler.
Also, I frequently hear a sort of bubbling sound when I draw on the e-cig. Is that normal?
Same reason you're getting it in your mouth - too much liquid is getting through. Try the blue scrubbie pad instead or add more poly.
I rarely get the kind of vapor I see coming out of e-cigs I see in video reviews. What's up with that?
If you notice, they either inhale & blow right away (not taking into their lungs) or they take HUGE draws for like 8 seconds. Also, it depends on the liquid and battery strength, as previously mentioned. Nhaler High Voltage makes great vapor.
Do you think coffee stirrers would work?
Yep. I have a 510 with 2 coffee stirrers side-by-side since I couldn't find a straw small enough. I notched the bottom of the stirrers to improve flow. And I cut the tops at an small angle and faced thoe missing areas to the middle, leaving one large notch in the middle, to allow some room for the bridge to push the filler into. Does that make sense?

I was using two stirrers for a while but find the straw works better. As kristin says, it cradles the bridge in an indent in the foam.
Yes, that's why I make a notch in the middle of the stirrers.
To steal Kristin's drawing, I do this:

The only way I'm finding blue scotch brite pads is bonded onto sponges. Do they make them 'plain' like the green pads?
Thanks!
