100 count of organic cotton balls can be found for less than $3 on Amazon. Most are whitened with Hydrogen Peroxide however, But I imagine somewhere un-whitened ones could be found.

hmm... what about the cotton that you get from like a vitamin bottle, I would assume that those should be safe since it is combines which edible goods?
any ideas? Because I got a huge piece of cotton here and a BUNCH of empty Carts (no fillers in them) from the atomizers that they came with.

I cotton wick would work better I would think, with a kero heater the fire keeps sucking up the kero, so it keeps it going even though the wick is above the kero.
A cotton wick should suck up the juice, but should like it drop easy and the atom's heat, should help pull the juice to it as needed. Then again, I'm not sure as I'm use to a kero heater not a ecig.
But it seems to me it could work well, and it should be able to with stand, the atoms heat well if juice is on it all the time. And the cotton wicks are cheap, and pretty strong as they are braided together well.

Is there a reason people don't use plain old cotton?
I didn't use no spring or straw, I just rolled up a round piece and stuck it in a full cart and it's working perfect. So what if you have to stick another piece in on refills its too easy. And i'm not even sure you have to as I am just tring this now for the first time. I find it hard to believe nobody has done this being as it is sooooooooo cheap and easy. So I am asking..

Yes I have works fine, on my 510.

Hemp? bloody hippies....
Just kidding... actually that might be an idea, although I have no idea if it produces an odor or taste when heated...

No more than cotton I would imagine. 100% organically grown, unbleached.
I ordered some degummed hemp fiber, unfortunately it's way too fine. Something like an organic hemp tea bag cut up to fit would probably be way better.
