Default Has anyone tried plain old cotton?

I've used pollyfill factory carts
Sponges
Fluval
Lipton Pyramid Tea Bags
Blue Foam
and now I am trying cotton
Is there a reason people don't use plain old cotton?
I didn't use no spring or straw, I just rolled up a round piece and stuck it in a full cart and it's working perfect. So what if you have to stick another piece in on refills its too easy. And i'm not even sure you have to as I am just tring this now for the first time. I find it hard to believe nobody has done this being as it is sooooooooo cheap and easy. So I am asking..
Has anyone tried plain old cotton?

I'd assume cotton would burn quite easily.

Every couple of days i see someone asking about cotton and someone always responds with that its a bad idea cause its not safe.. dont remember exactly what was said but obviously some bad chemicals.

Do a search on this forum and i'm sure it you'll find your asnwer.

I'm still trying to get past the human hair cart mod.

If I remember right, cotton fibers come loose easier than polyester and can gunk up you atty and can get inhaled with the vapor. I used cotton for a while and it did hold more than the regular filler but I got a real mess after awhile on my atty. Maybe try small foam piece on top of cotton?

That's a good idea. No burnage.

I used cotton from a sterile face cleaning pad for a long time. In my mini 102, I shaped it like a funnel, making sure the top was big enough to cover the opening. It worked great and then I got some new attys and for some reason I started having trouble. Then I went to the face buff pad with the cotton from the cleaning pad as a topper. This worked great but then I found that the TB worked better than the cotton.
Then Kristin came up with a new TB mod which I'm using and really like.
I never had any problem with the cotton burning. When it did work, it'd last me the day through and no other filler has done that.
