    Default Dual Twisted 28 ga

I twisted together two strands of 28 gauge and built this duce on my Tobh. Nothing special, just my first "fancy" build and I felt like showing off.

Test .3 Ohms on two meters.

Looks pretty good. Did you twist by hand or use a drill? I would usualy twist a lot tighter. It seems to bring out more flavor.

Just used hemostats and a wrench. Kanthal seems pretty brittle so I didn't want to stress it.

If you use a drill it's actually a lot tighter. A buddy of mine with a drill press did this. 26g kanthal on a 5/64" drill bit. reads out at 0.24 ohms. I also have some 28g done the same way.

Makes sense. More metal in the same length = lower resistance. I'm just wondering if this is any different than using fatter Kanthal. I mean, other than increased surface area.

It IS cool looking, but it lives under a atty cap, so do I want to spend time twisting wire when I could get the same thing out of buying the right wire in the first place?

Actualy more wire same length gets higer ohms but scince there are 2 strands nets lower. Checkout Ripp Trippers youtube on twised kanthal.
