Welcome to ECF! We are the world’s largest electronic cigarette website. Here you’ll find a world of ecig information, discussion, everything for new and old users, honest reviews, and a whole lot more!
Ho boy! Have CyberWolf and I (VapingGuides.com) and j0ker (ECF Contest Moderator) got a video contest for you! Get your creative juices flowing and flex your funny bone. This is the BIG one!
Any ECF member with a sense of humor (and access to either a video cam or just video editing software) gets to compete for 15 great prizes – five fantastic mods and ten terrific fat batts (those eGO-type thingies) – donated by some of the best suppliers in the biz.
The rest of us get to laugh our heads off watching – and voting on – the dozens of wacky videos produced.
CyberWolf's, j0ker’s and my goal is to have this be the Boston Marathon of video contests, i.e., we hope that the leading vaping video producers and personalities will participate ... and anyone who has ever yearned to be a videographer (or just has a silly side). Polished production values are nice, but if your video is funny, it probably will win a prize.
Because of all those prizes, this is a long post. Here’s a Table of Contents:
Teaser Prologue – what you just read
Marquee and Sponsors – coming right up
Descriptions of the Prizes – what takes up most of the space
Schedule of Events – from right now until March 1st
Contest Guidelines – in a nutshell: funny and PG-rated. Includes example videos.
Without further ado…
and
are proud to present the world’s greatest

sponsored by some of the leading suppliers in the world of vaping
Please give them a round of applause … and your heartfelt appreciation! [They sure have mine.]
Now here are what they have donated: the prizes you can win ... if you can get us to giggle.
The Prizes:
14th Place: The 750 mAh Riva-901 (two-battery/two-atomizer kit, in the available color of your choice) – donated by Liberty-Flights.
My goodness! I’d love to have the Riva. If this is the 14th place prize, what are the top prizes? You ain’t seen nothin’ yet, kid!
13th Place: The 750 mAh Riva-510 (two-batt/two-atty kit, in the available color of your choice) – donated by Liberty-Flights.
Liberty-Flights again? That’s generous! But I’m a 901 user; can I swap with the 14th place winner? Sure, if that person is willing.
12th Place: The 800 mAh Boge Leo in silver (classic one-batt/one-atty kit, PT version) – donated by Vapor Junction.
“The Leo is my all-time favorite PV.” – DonDaBoomVape
This new PV is so unique, instead of a photo; we’ve included igetcha’s video demonstration and review. [Scott got his from another of our sponsors, coming up…now.]
8th Place: The 900 mAh Riva “Mega” (two-batt/two-atty kit) – donated by VaporFlow.
The wonderful Riva (510) again – this time at 900 mAh.
Smoore (of M401 fame) enters the fat batt arena with this 900 mAh unit, based on the increasingly popular M301 atomizer … and cartomizer.
6th Place: The 1300 mAh Go-Go (two-battery kit with five 3-ml capacity cartomizers) … plus, not shown in photo, a 10-ml bottle of juice and two adapters (Go-Go cartos on Kr8 batts and Kr8 cartos on Go-Go batts) – donated by CigEasy.
1300 mAh? And 3-ml cartos? Hubba hubba! And “Go-Go carto” sounds funny. [Maybe it will win a prize.] This item is so new, it’s not even on CigEasy’s website yet … but Frank will have it in plenty of time to send it to the winner.
5th Place: The 650 mAh eGo-T (two-batt/two-atty/five-tank kit with pouch) – donated by Cignot.
Really? You have it? The brand new eGO-T! Well, Cignot has it, but Vicky is parting with one precious unit for the contest. [Learn more about the eGO-Tank by watching Darth Vapor’s (cozzcon) review.]
A great ending to the fat batts portion of our contest prizes!
4th Place: We now enter the land of mods with the just released Q2v3 Copper (complete kit with batteries and charger) … plus two atomizers – donated by AtmosUSA.
Longer, lighter, and sporting intriguing design features, the Q2v3 is all new for 2011. Vape at 1800 mAh 3.7V … at 6.0V … or even at 7.2V (using the included batteries and atomizers of your choice) with this handsome addition to the Copper family of great mods.
And now … the Big Three [NO: Four]
1st, 2nd, 3rd Place ... and Best In Show: [NOTE: "Best In Show" will be awarded by the contest organizers to recognize that very special entry, which transcends all the others in some way. It may or may not be the video with the largest tally of votes by members.]
These four winners will have a choice of four marvelous mods. ["Best In Show" winner gets first pick, first place the next, etc.] And (presented in no particular order) here they are:
The Infinity (complete kit with batteries and charger, not shown in photo) … plusThe Dripper– donated by NotCigs.
The Infinity (released just this week) is the world’s sleekest variable voltage mod – from the inventor of VV. It uses two protected 3.7V 600mAh 14430 batteries and is adjustable without a screwdriver, using a convenient numbered dial. The Infinity features regulated voltage and over temp / current protection. Available in black, brass, or chrome with black, brass, or chrome caps – in any combination.
The Dripper is a 6ml juice holder and pump, delivering 2 drops per pump. Just attach it to the side of your PV with Velcro. [The Buzz, shown in photo to illustrate use, is not included in the prize package.]
The Multi-Voltage Dial-A-Tekk Mod carries two 18650 2200 mAh batteries and should last two to four days, varying by user. This variation of the Tekk mod now features a dial on the bottom of the device that allows anywhere from 1.25v to 5.8v (approx) vaping.
Unit charges with mini USB and can also be used as a passthrough while charging. Features convenient on/off switch on the front of the mod and a 5v out charging port that allows you to charge anything electronic you have that uses a USB cable. The Multi-Voltage Tekk Mod comes with one gray lanyard, one drawstring carrying pouch, a 510 to 901 adapter and a 510 to 801 adapter.
Machined to the most exacting specifications, the 18.5mm x 74mm Precise 16340 is the thinnest – and most elegant – 16340-based PV in the world. It features an all Stainless steel body with a semi-recessed and shielded cap/button (brass or stainless steel) to help prevent misfires. The kit comes with an additional screw-on 510 to 901 or 510 to 801 adapter. For this contest, David is adding features not shown in the above photo or on his website: slanted vent holes and a chamfered front cap (opposed to the stock flat top cap).
The All new Contoured "Wide Mouth" T-Tip – from the inventor of drip tips – is machined from solid stainless steel rod, featuring an O-ring for positive seal and tip retention and an all new recessed funnel and bigger opening for even better dripping.
The Reo Mini juice-fed mod (complete kit with batteries and charger) – donated by ReosMods
Juice-fed mods are so different from most PVs, that I’ve used TrueLove’s video presentation instead of a photo to represent this great prize.
The Reo Mini is one of the best bottom-juice-fed mods ever made. You just push the bottle when you need more juice. The mod is 100% mechanical – no wires. It has a 3-ml bottle that feeds your e-juice, runs on one 900 mAh 14500 battery, and uses 510-801-901-306 Atomizers or Cartomizers. For more information, read WhatAClumsyGirl’s fact-and-photo-filled review and view that presentation by TrueLove.
In addition, the top three prize winners will receive a 1-year ECF Subscription and a Gift Certificate to the ECF Store – donated by ECF.
1st: $50 Gift Certificate
2nd: $25 Gift Certificate
3rd: $15 Gift Certificate
MadVapes has so many different kinds of vaping products – most of which do not have the price tag representing the contribution that MadVapes wanted to make – Hoog and I thought this would be the most useful contribution to our contest. Thank you, Hoog!
Whew! Finally we move from the prize section of this announcement to…
Schedule of Events:

Contest Guidelines
Eligibility: ECF Member (at any level). [NOTE: Members residing outside the U.S. are eligible to participate and win prizes, although they will have to pay the additional charges entailed in shipping their prize.]
ECF staff (including Moderators), principals of VapingGuides, and the employees (and their family members) any of the sponsors are not eligible … at least to win a prize. They certainly may submit a video (and participate in videos submitted by others) for us to laugh at.
Subject: Not any one product, but any aspect(s) of the world or experience of vaping. Somewhere in the video (not necessarily in the title), both ECF and VapingGuides must be mentioned (in any order). [No need to say much about them or sing their praises; a brief allusion is fine.] This "mentioning" can be in text, verbal, or with logos. If shown together, we do request that you do not say ECF or VapingGuides.
An example of both a humorous aspect of vaping and of mentioning the contest organizer is the winner of the Revolver contest, Brian Paulette’s:
Be reassured. That is not an example of the acting or production values expected in videos submitted for this contest. If you are a professional (as Brian obviously is), then apply your craft. But this is primarily an amateur video competition: farcical, not (necessarily) fancy. We are expecting a lot more of:
Actually, I’m hoping that many of the videos submitted will be that humorous.
No promotion of specific products or suppliers ... other than of the contest sponsors. [Clarification: There is no requirement to mention these generous sponsors; it merely is allowed. We are promoting them like mad in this and all further announcements.]
Keep it clean (and comply with all ECF video rules). What I would call 'PG'-rated. For example: "Fart" is OK, but not the other four-letter 'F' word.
Originality: The video images or soundtrack may be from other sources, but the humor must be yours. For example, as in Swaggtech’s NHaler contest award winner:
Somehow I doubt that the original movie – without Swaggtech’s subtitles – was all that whimsical.
Also, we prefer that your submittal be freshly created for this contest. However, you may submit a previously created video (appropriately modified per these contest guidelines), as long as it was never used in another contest or for commercial purposes.
Multiple Entries: You may submit more than one video. [We discourage more than two.] However, you are eligible to receive only one prize. The video with the highest number of votes will determine place standing.
Format: Anything that can be uploaded to YouTube and embedded in a post here on ECF. This includes videos with live actors, animations, slide show of still photos, text screens, voice overs, etc. [Remember however that the humor must be yours, e.g., some animation programs like JibJab have the humor built in. Merely inserting j0ker's avatar on some silly dancing figures may be hilarious, but doesn't cut it.]
Suggested video length: between 30 seconds and 5 minutes. [But if you have us all rolling on the floor in 24 seconds (as in that singing in the shower video) or 5½ minutes, that's OK.]
Judging Criteria: First, last, and foremost – hilarity! A Schindler's List will be acknowledged as a great work of art (and may receive a special prize), but it ain't gonna win First Place.
Entry Submission: Upload your contest entry video to YouTube and then send the URL to me (DonDaBoomVape) in a PM. Do not post your video in this thread.
Let the games begin!
