Now i must get accustomed to DV percentages as they are much higher than FA. I'll start wiyh 15-20 %. Any ideas emonty?
For the record, we mix most of the premixed juices at 15% (less for menthol, mentholyptus and absinthe though, and 20% for some of the lighter flavours,) - but different folks have different preferences - I know a lot of folks who like 20%+, and some who prefer 10% (the hardware does make quite a difference, so you'll probably want to experiment - 15% seems about right on a standard 510, but if you're using HV or LR, perhaps crank it up to 20%+.)
That's the beauty of mixing your own, of course - you don't have to please anyone but yourself. Hope you enjoy them!

Thanks Nick,
So far i tried the banana at 20% on a regular atty. It is very yummy!!! Also tried the cafe @ 15% and it is a strong coffee flavor.
There is an aftertaste but i'm sure it is from the FA PG...it simply has a chemical aftertaste that is also present on their nic juice. So i must get some really tasteless nic.
So far...i am liking your products! Now...lets check the caramel and vanilla!
Cheers.

Hey Nick,
Did your very first batch of VG absinthe use Ecopure 'Fresh' as a base? Seems like I recall an early post where you had bought a bunch of Ecopure 'rich' and 'fresh' before opening DV. And if so, is that true of habana reserve as well, or did you use 'rich' for that or both?

I did use the 'Fresh' for the first VG juices, before I sourced the UK-produced nicotine we use now, but not the Rich (I had a sample of that, but it wasn't so bland a flavour, and didn't go so well with the flavours.)
IIRC the only flavouring in the Fresh at the time was Ethyl maltol (and we use that in a lot of our flavours too,) - it might have changed now though - I haven't tried it for going on a year now.

I think, not positive though, that Fresh always had a touch of menthol and Ethly maltol in there but at first it was promoted as 'unflavored'. Now they say it has their menthol. Thanks.

Yuk! Well, if it had it then, it must have been only a touch (I hate menthol.)
I raised the ethyl maltol levels in some of the concentrates slightly when we moved to the new nicotine, since it does contribute a pleasant note to the flavours - not really a flavour of its own, but certainly a sort of freshness that complements sweet flavours.

It was only a touch. You could slightly smell it in the 1 liter bottle but not taste it. Their menthol as bottled, is, well, not that good. I have some Ethyl Malto that I've never used - powder form.

Melts at about 90'C and boils at 161'C, and it doesn't leave a residue. More of a flavour enhancer than a flavour itself - I like to think of it as MSG for ejuice (MSG isn't volatile

) so don't be afraid to use it

Interesting. Just for a 'for instance' say I'm making up 12mg of Platinum Ice/Aqueous Glycerine and wanted to try some Flavour art flavors. How much Ethyl Malto might you add to a 30ml batch? Would you boil it in water first - add it to the VG perhaps to make up that part of the blend then mix in the nic and flavors?
