Check the labels carefully from TSC. All the ones I tried only carried Feed Grade. I gave up and went the pharmacy route. $11.75/16 ounces. The Walgreen's pharmacist was nasty to me when I asked about it. The Target pharmacist was nice. He couldn't order it, but sent me to a pharmacy that could. He said to stay with compound pharmacies (pharmacies that actually mix liquid drugs on the premises) and avoid the big chain stores.

The first pharmacist at the compound pharmacy tried to tell me I wanted polyethylene glycol and he didn't know what propylene glycol was. I had him write it down. The owner was leery at first, but another pharmacist assured her it was fairly harmless and my wanting it for a base for vaporizer fluid was perfectly reasonable. So she ordered it for me. Came the next day.

Hi, this is my 1st post but I thought maybe I might be of some use. PG is also a humectant used in things like lotions. You can search the internet for lotion suppliers and most will have it. You do want to make sure it is USP and maybe even ask for the MSDS sheet.

If that is not the right quality for vaping, then someone please correct me and we can all just ignore my 1st post.

What exactly is wrong with the feed grade from TSG? I mean seriously, this stuff is replacing cigarettes. Unless the feed grade has cow parts floating in it (kidding) how bad can it be? Also you can get kosher PG in a 1 gallon container from the following:
Nature's Flavors : PROPYLENE GLYCOL (CAS Number: 57-55-6) Kosher
I would like to know what is wrong with the feed stuff. And since I can edit posts now (yay) do we REALLY think that China is using pharmaceutical grade PG in their fluids? Cmon folks, these are the same folks who brought us melamine laced baby/dog foods and lotso-lead toys for the kiddies. REALLY hoping for some responses here.

jcoppers, you make a good point, and without speaking for the rest of the world...

"feed grade" is suitable for livestock. cows also eat their own vomit, so i'm not sure they really care so much about purity of propylene glycol.

"usp grade" is pharma grade that is (said to be) rated for human consumption and higher purity of product.

i think it's a bit of a dig on china to assume that every single product they make is sub-par and dangerous. you ever checked like, i dunno, every single item you own? everything is made in china. we tarnish it just because they had some incidents in the past, but so has the US right? did we refuse to buy american because of it?

    anyway...sorry for the pseudo-rant.

point being, feed grade and USP grade seems to be pretty readily available, and for the same prices, so it seems that China would easily be able to get USP quality PG as easily as we can.

if you'd like to try the feed grade, i'm sure no one would recommend it, but we can't stop you either.

for peace of mind, i'd say most of us will stick with the USP grade, regardless of the valid argument.

point taken, I was not intending to "bash" China, but their record is less than stellar. Now as far as cost, feed grade PG is 20.00 a gallon, I paid 10.00 for 6 ounces at my local pharmacy. Where are you getting pharma grade for that 20 bucks a gallon? Not trying to be argumentative, looking for a supplier.

    Thanks.

jcoppers, I know of a place on line called Lotioncrafter. They sell PG, look under humectants. The price is 12.00 for 2 lbs. You have to pay shipping on those 16 lbs so I'm not sure if it's what your looking for or not, but I thought I would throw that info out there. They also have veg. glycerine (USP kosher) so maybe if you throw all that in the cart shipping is worth the price.

This is normally used for bath & body stuff, so I'm only assuming by the USP, and what I've read, this would still be safe.

Not questioning their fabulous service, but at 2.00 for 30 ml that comes to about $150.00 per gallon. I don't need a gallon but the idea was the best price and the idea that the food grade and veterinary grade could be had for very close to the same price.

Keep in mind that there are 3785.4 ml in a gallon. Even if you're cutting your juice with 75% PG, then you're talking about 946ml of eliquid to use a gallon of PG. If you use 2ml a day of juice, that's 6.5 years of supply.
The 30ml size manageable and easier to work with then a gallon jug, and you're only probably really only going to go through about 30ml a month or less. Yeah, it's more expensive to buy it in small quantities, but unless you're selling your liquid on the side, it doesn't really make sense to buy it bulk either.
