Hello! I stumbled across this forum while looking for blending agents and noticed a lot of you seeking vegetable glycerin. While I saw someone found food-grade in a cake/baker's shop and at a Vitamin Shoppe I thought I would recommend other sources, for those looking to have it directly shipped and such.
NOW Foods - Vegetable Glycerine - 16 oz. (Edible) (I would post the link but I'm new so feel free to Google for it, you'll get the company that produces it along with a long list of retailers worldwide) is fairly dependable and more reasonably priced for small scale use, since it really doesn't get affordable unless you are willing to purchase by the gallon in wholesale shops.
Happy Smoking! I am so glad I found this forum!
welcome to the forum onepartygal!
The world will look up and shout "Save us!"... And I'll whisper "No."
I just picked up 4oz of the "Now" brand VG, Will let people know how it goes.
It does say pure enough for internal use, thats a plus.
The regular glycerin is mainly for external, like skin lotion. I dont know what if any the difference is.
I picked up a 200ml bottle of 100% Glycerin BP from my local ASDA pharmacy here in the UK (£1.40) and have been using it to maintain vapour from my starter kit cartridges to great effect.
I have some e-juice on order and intend to try a homebrew mix of 36mg and VG to try and reduce the costs.
Any hints on mixing PG based E-Juice with VG? I'd like an 18mg final product I think, so a straight 50/50 mix in a dripper bottle shaken well is my plan.

Hi Baalel, welcome to the forum.
You answered your own query there, half 36mg commercial juice and half glycerine equals 18mg. Propylene glycol and glycerine don't have any trouble mixing so shaking the bottle will do it. You might find that the glycerine takes too much of the flavour away from your mix, if so you could look into getting some flavourings.
Thanks Kate, I just wanted to make sure I was on the right track before wasting some expensive e-liquid.
i'm having trouble finding PG based flavours here in the UK, most of the popular brand here 'super cook' seem to be oil based.
i've found a PG based vanilla Flavour, but it has caramel as a colourant and I am a little concerned the caramel will mess up the atomizer so I am reluctant to use it except in very low concentrations.
Yeah, Supercook aren't great. I find with ordinary food flavours that even if they're usable they are not strong enough. I ordered some concentrated ones from the States, there's a thread about them here - LorAnn candy flavours
I avoid colourings too.

Yes, that's the right stuff. Let us know how you get on with it.
